Liquid Resonance — Strategic Collaboration & Creative Direction

How can design create resonance between glass and the scent of rain and water—a connection between material and the senses?

For Liquid Resonance, presented as part of @currents.berlin, the Berlin design festival, Studio Homburger developed the conceptual direction and creative framework for a collaboration between @analog_glass and @aoiro.air.

The starting point was a shared interest in resonance as a way of relating to the world—through material, sensory perception and our surroundings. Bringing together ANALOG’s mouth-blown glass practice and AOIRO’s work with botanical essences, we identified the potential for a dialogue between two distinct disciplines, united by their capacity to shape how we perceive and experience our environment.

From partner selection and narrative development to creative direction and exhibition design, this perspective informed the project at every level. The resulting exhibition translated the idea of resonance into a spatial experience, connecting glass, scent and atmosphere within San Gimignano Lichtenberg and its surrounding creative community (@___netzwerk and @reidarmester).

Glass has long been part of the history of Eisenbahnstraße 5: it’s home to Hans Trautner, a Berlin glass company founded in 1924. This inspired us to include objects by Analog Glass and Dominik Cosentino in our first exhibition. These glass objects reflect the neighbourhood, its buildings and its history. Liam Gordon saw fluidity in their form, inspiring him to add the sound of waves to the exhibition soundscape 🧊

Berlin has been home for most of my adult life, so this space is close to the heart.

An exploration of honesty in material & form, craft & the city. Looking for shared values rather than obvious Berlin clichés. Not borrowing from the city, but collaborating with the incredible workshops, makers and designers who make Berlin such an inspiring place to live and work.

Exposed aggregate drawn from the post-war architecture of Mitte. Cork & jute taken from the footbed and translated from product scale into architecture.

A temporary installation by Clara Twele @clara_twl and Galina Kolchina @_kolchina_ at the intersection of design, art and architecture, brought together through an atmospheric soundscape.
Zwischenräume moves between the visible and the fleeting, between inside and outside, between matter, sound and imagination. The installation understands space not as a fixed state, but as something that shifts with the gaze, the light and one’s movement through it.

[ANALOG GLASS | OMAM PENDANT]

익숙한 조명 대신, 하나의 작품으로 공간에 개성과 이야기를 더하다.

베를린 기반의 ANALOG는 전통적인 글라스 블로잉 기술을 현대적인 디자인과 기술로 확장하며, 유리라는 소재가 만들어낼 수 있는 새로운 형태를 탐구합니다. 완벽하게 동일한 결과를 만드는 것보다 제작 과정에서 발생하는 움직임과 우연성, 그리고 장인의 손이 남기는 미세한 차이를 디자인의 일부로 받아들입니다.

Philipp Weber가 디자인한 OMAM Pendant는 숙련된 글라스 블로어의 유동적인 움직임을 따라 하나씩 형태가 만들어지며, 각각의 피스는 서로 다른 굴곡과 표정을 갖습니다.

싱글 팬던트 OMAM을 공간에 들이는 것만으로도 빛과 유리의 독특한 존재감이 더해지고, 여러 개를 함께 구성하면 각각의 형태가 어우러져 하나의 설치 작품처럼 더욱 드라마틱한 장면을 만들어냅니다.

OMAM은 Clear, Opaline White, Ember Black 세 가지 글라스로 만나볼 수 있으며, 1·3·5·15등 클러스터부터 공간의 규모와 높이에 따른 커스텀 주문이 가능합니다.

Berlin was abuzz last week with design lovers sailing between the 60 venues of @currents.berlin. In case you missed it (unlikely) there were exhibitions, talks, product presentations, workshops, and listening sessions all over town. There has been much discussion in the recent years about the design scene of the city being robust but not unified. Having joined forces, @Laura.ewert and @jasmin.jouhar decided to roll their sleeves up and do it themselves with the support of their community. Thanks for the great collaboration and trust. May this mark the beginning of a long-lasting journey. Congratulations!

Come and discover SUITES 10, conceived by MAJ VAN DER LINDEN in collaboration with Wohnen AM TACHELES as a spatial installation that loosely evokes a domestic setting. Bringing together works by Berlin-based artists and designers this collection reflects the gallery’s focus on collectible design and material-based practices. Situated between installation and living space, the suite explores what it means to surround ourselves consciously with objects. Access is via our satellite gallery location:
