MONDAY PHOTO STORIES - Happiest when she's driving through the back roads of anywhere with her camera next to her on the front seat, fine art photographer Tara Wilkinson tells us about the day she captured this image titled PINE NUT: "Years ago, I was travelling in the south of France with a group of friends. They wanted to explore an old cemetary. On the way, we passed a herd of sheep and goats grazing in a pasture. I asked them to pull over and drop me off so I could shoot photos and I'd that I'd meet them there later. As I was shooting, I suddenly heard a lamb in distress. I looked over and saw it had it's head caught in the fence. I did a 360 and saw there was no farmer nearby who could help the poor creature, so I dropped all my gear, scrambled down into the gully and ran to the fence to help the little guy. With my hands on his head I tried to gently guide him out. And that's when it hit me. A huge volt of electricity ran through my body. The fence was on and I hadn't noticed it was electric! My first reaction was "Whaaa?? What's happening?!" I stumbled back, froze, looked around and then realized what happened. I could feel the voltage sizzling through my veins fro head to toe. When I gathered my senses, I picked up my gear and slowly walked down the road to find my friends. I told them what had happened ... and then sat quietly in the car for the rest of the journey. Sadly, I wasn't able to free the lamb. A smaller fencing lattice would have prevented this from happening.
