DEBUT ÁLBUM OUT TODAY!

So, dear friends,

The day has finally arrived, and my very anticipated album has been born into the world -not just for me anymore, but for you as well 💚. I hope these songs filled with love, care, and dedication may touch you somewhere in your soul.

Almost eight years ago, I left the nest on the palm tree across grandma’s house in Queretaro to find place far in the north, and I’d be lying if I said it’s all been easy. But almost nothing worthwhile in life comes without effort or sacrifice.

These songs are the result of this ongoing journey- years full of happiness and joy, hopes and dreams, longing, ground shaking losses, family, languages, cultural clashes and reconciliations...
An album full of honesty, poetry, and humanity.

Enjoy it, and thank you for listening.
———-

Once again I wish to express my gratitude to all the wonderful folks that collaborated in this collection of songs:

My new song Foxglove is out today! Link in bio & stories
.
Very excited to release this one, as it is the lead single of my upcoming album “Ironclad and Palm trees” -!!!!!
.
This is a track that reflects on resilience during moments of transition, the seasonal change and transformation.- an intimate moment of suspension: between light and darkness, the hidden and the visible.
.
Thanks to all the good people in the team who contributed and helped shaping the song:

My band <33
@sillusillus - co-singer
@solrunm on drums
@sakarismusic bouncing bass ideas and demos
@_vnjar playing the piano
@albrtfnnbgsn mixing and producing together
@diljaa_ playing the viola
@tumitorfason audio engineer for additional recordings
@ruluks cover pic
Thanks to Ellen mín my main support and first feedback giver.

Mastered by @zinomikoreymastering

Hope you enjoy the song and stay tuned.
Thanks for your constant support xx

hafnar 🟨 #15 “Ironclad and Palm trees” Album release (Puppet - Cardboard, motor and Ironclad) by @andervels x @ruluks x @allanic.sunniva

A flock of budgies nesting in a palm tree,
a spider weaving its web between the walls.
it is spring.

Ironclad and Palm Trees is Andervel’s hotly anticipated debut album. A folk-leaning, multilingual record inspired by Icelandic and Mexican poetry, shaped by migration, memory, grief, and the meeting of two homelands.
In collaboration with artists Sandijs Ruluks and Sunniva Allanic, Andervel presents the installation of this puppet, a symbol of the two cultural worlds that converge in his music.

Ironclad and Palm Trees is now available on all streaming platforms, and it is also possible to support the project through the Karolina Fund campaign linked in Andervel’s bio.

hafnar 🟨 is a window into the soul of Reykjavík’s largest creative community .haus and spotlighthts the works of its creatives of diverse disciplines.

Vinyl announcement !!!

Dear friends, kæru vinir

Many of you have asked if there will be a physical release of the album - the answer is YES! And you can help make this a reality. 💌🫶✨

You can now pre-order a limited edition vinyl pressing of Ironclad and Palm Trees, via Karolina Fund by clicking the link in bio.
By doing so, you’ll also be supporting the campaign behind this project.

I have thought of a variety of options for you to choose from. I really want to stress how important your support is, and I would like to encourage you to consider contributing to the campaign if you can.

This is a work we’re very proud of, and I would love to bring it to life on vinyl.

Fyrirfram þakkir, gracias!
