Sylva is a great example of why WNC towns can be so breathtaking. Fog fills the valley with the sun illuminating the Jackson County Courthouse, and before you know it the fog is gone, revealing the amazing views of the mountains.

Beautfiful town, outstanding scenery, and side note:

Color is coming in below Waterrock Knob in the lower valley, but still has some green as well. Very excited about next week and how the cold will affect everthing.

First time hiking the Boone Fork Trail and there’s some definite color down there. Awesome hike as well. I didn’t make it all the way to the Falls, but I think I will next time.

It’s been a while since I’ve been out on the Blue Ridge Parkway for some astrophotography.

I’ll admit, being up there in the middle of the night is always a little scary and exciting at the same time.

Moments like these always have a way of putting life into perspective. How we are just a small part of something bigger.
