I’m still finding the words for how meaningful it is to be one of 8 fellows selected for the Fred Rogers Writers’ Neighborhood Fellowship.

It honestly feels like a dream come true, and, in many ways, like I’ve arrived exactly where I’ve been working toward.

Two years ago, I made the decision to pursue kid’s film & TV. I knew I wanted to tell stories for kiddos, but I didn’t know exactly what that path would look like. Since then, there have been plenty of moments that have required a lot of perseverance, resilience, and trust in the fact that the work would eventually lead somewhere.

To have that journey bring me here, specifically into a fellowship centered around children’s storytelling and the legacy of Mister Rogers, feels incredibly special.

Our first weekend in Pittsburgh was surreal. Attending workshops on early childhood development, hearing from leaders in children’s media, and seeing pieces from the original Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood set was the kind of experience my younger self could only have dreamed of.

What moved me most was being surrounded by people who don’t just talk about meaningful storytelling for children, they walk the walk. Being among mentors and peers who share that belief made me feel incredibly lucky to be part of this community.

I’m deeply grateful to Fred Rogers Productions, our mentors, and my fellow 2026 Fellows for welcoming me into this experience and giving me the opportunity to learn from such a meaningful legacy.

This time last year, Evan and I ran away to Indonesia for our month abroad and to celebrate the wedding of our dear amazing friends @ac_slamet and @sarajody1. It is such a beautiful people and culture and we were so touched @ac_slamet shared it with all of us. Besides that, we were living our jungle fantasy adventures and yes we did do a mandatory Tarzan watch in our jungle treehouse stay for my birthday. 2025, thank you for all the goodness you gave me. This year has been one of my happiest years in a minute; a year full of profoundly uninhibited joy!

I started this year, year of the hermit (for my fellow tarot family @bridgethcasey), with a singular promise to myself. No more “maybe next year” sentiments. If I wanted to do something for more than 2+ years, the time was it - just now. That lead to: Sundance film festival, my first 5K (which felt like a miracle in itself), my first Kidscreen conference, a scuba license (a dream since 12 yo), pitching my first professional project, getting signed by a management company, a Cape Cod road trip, asking Evan’s grandma to be one of my bridesmaids, producing a short film with a killer cast and crew (and directed by my future hubby @evcolten ), the honor of seeing some of my best friends get married 🥹 (jeez what a special feeling!), meeting John Mulaney (!!!), letting go, taking back control of my body and health, dancing in the garden of my friendships and family in full bloom, and feeling more Andy than I have in a long time.

This year around Christmas, I gave my amazing daddy a joyride in his beloved vintage car for his 75th birthday! To say the least, he was a very happy camper. 10/10. 🎄💕
