A HAND-DRAWN JOURNEY

Upper House began with a simple idea: calm and comfort, brought to life through our long-standing partnership with @andrefustudio.

Nearly 20 years on, those two words still shape the experience of the House and the connections formed within it.

This year, we were once again recognised among the world’s Top 10 Hotels by @the50hotels, marking our fourth year on the list. For a small hotel with a different vision, this recognition is especially meaningful.

Thank you to our team, our guests, and our community for the support that continues to carry this vision forward. We‘re grateful for each and every one of you.

carrying my studio’s celebrations to london and into the timeless embrace of claridge’s — the city’s most iconic hotel — where the residence suite became the setting for an intimate reception.

it was an evening woven from engaging conversation and the warm company of friends of the studio: kindred spirits gathered beneath the glow of a place that has long held history, elegance, and quiet magic. stories were shared, ideas exchanged, memories revisited, and new connections allowed to take root.

for making this beautiful moment possible, my special thanks go to our long-term collaborators @judydobias and @paulafitzherbert, whose generosity and dedication turned a vision into an evening to cherish.

on the third day of our anniversary celebrations, an intimate reception took place to mark 25 years of the studio’s journey.

surrounded by the friends, family, and creative collaborators who have shaped the last two and a half decades, the evening was a heartfelt tribute to the community behind every milestone.

AN EXHIBITION OF 25 HAND-DRAWN SKETCHES

to commemorate the 25th anniversary of our studio, an exhibition is held to present 25 original hand-drawn sketches by andré, with some dating as far back as 2006.

offering a rare glimpse into the creative vision behind fu’s first hotel project, the show celebrates a career defined by transforming pure ideas into physical spaces that genuinely connect with people.

the exhibition remains on view until the end of september 2026.

Nearly 100 design students and emerging talents gathered at DX design hub featuring André Fu, founder of @andrefustudio , recipient of the DFA Designer of the Year 2025, alongside Keith Kerr, former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Swire Properties, and moderated by Rainy Chan, Executive Director of Hong Kong Design Centre.

近百位設計學生及新晉設計師於8月26日齊集DX設計館參與「André Fu 爐邊對談」。對談由 DFA 年度設計師2025得主傅厚民先生（@andrefustudio 創辦人）主講，同時邀請到太古地產前主席及行政總裁簡基富先生（Keith Kerr）跨界對談，並由香港設計中心行政總裁陳娜嘉女士（Rainy Chan）主持。

this year marks 25 years of andré fu's studio. to celebrate, assouline presents andré fu: a designer's vision, the third monograph produced by the acclaimed hong kong-based interior architect, and as the title suggests, it's his most candid and insightful yet. each project is accompanied by a thoughtful personal narrative with text drawn from in-depth conversations between fu and author daven wu, singapore editor at wallpaper and city editor of the louis vuitton city guide to singapore. visually rich, sumptuous full-bleed photography of each project is occasionally punctuated by fu's delicate hand-drawn sketches and scripted captions, offering a rare window into the inspiration and ambition behind some of the spaces.
