I previously collected 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙇𝙖𝙬 𝙤𝙛 𝘼𝙩𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣, a work by 𝐀𝐂 𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐑𝐄 𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐀𝐌𝐀. In this piece, I sense a quiet yet persistent state of exertion.

The figure appears with almost childlike proportions, yet carries a weight that surpasses its age. The artist’s precise control of proportion and structure allows cuteness to move beyond surface appeal and become an entry point for emotion.

The attention to detail is especially captivating—from the light reflected in the eyes, the layered flow of the hair, to the tension in the hands gripping the rope. Each element brings warmth and realism to the image. The overall palette is soft yet powerful, making the figure appear fragile on the surface, but resolute within.

𝐆𝐰𝐞𝐧 𝐒𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭—𝐀𝐂 𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐑𝐄 𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐀𝐌𝐀 works make you want to slow down and really look at them, and you can feel the emotions even though they’re very quiet.

Hello, this is Jazmin.

I still remember when I first discovered Gwen Silent by Andre Tanama.

What struck me was how Gwen, with her silent face and closed eyes, became more than just a character – she was a mirror of contemplation and sensitivity.

When I saw her evolution in 2024, with wide-open eyes, I felt it was a beautiful transformation: from silence and introspection into a world of curiosity and openness. It felt like Gwen was guiding us through Andre’s artistic journey of meaning and transformation.

I was also deeply moved by Andre’s Silent Prayer series. For me, “Silent prayer is the language of the soul” is not only a statement but also an experience – a reminder that sometimes the truest connection with the Divine is beyond words.

Through Gwen Silent and Silent Prayer, Andre’s work resonates with me as a timeless meditation on silence, openness, and the sacred balance within us.

😶‍🌫️ 𝗛𝗔𝗭𝗘
Dragons belong to legends. But the haze crossing borders is real, no fairy tale. Neither is the human suffering behind it.

Honestly, we feel ashamed, saddened, & angry about what's happening. #Karhutla / Our forests are burning. The haze is crossing borders, affecting so many people who should never have to bear the consequences. To everyone affected, we're deeply sorry. Many of us are hurting and disappointed too. We urge our government and all those responsible to take meaningful action.

Air knows no borders. Neither do human suffering and compassion. No one should ever have to beg just to breathe clean air. May we never lose our humanity, even when the skies lose their clarity.

Lukisan Pearl (2024) merupakan apropriasi AC Andre Tanama atas lukisan Girl with a Pearl Earring (1665) karya Johannes Vermeer.
