NEW PROJECT // Very proud to share some stills from “Becoming”, a new short dance film I shot in partnership with @sonycine and directed by @andrew.vhs to showcase the Sony Venice 2 camera platform. Please click the link in my bio to view the full project, in 4K!

We had the immense pleasure and privilege to be able to shoot on location at The Getty Center @gettymuseum in Los Angeles, and an equally immense pleasure to be able to showcase the talents of the incredible @daphodilfern who dances in the piece, and composer @_michaelgregorio_.

This was a true dream of a project - a day of the purest kind of creativity with a very small, tight-knit and focused crew, some incredible technical tools, an amazing location, beautiful natural light, and the most wonderful collaboration between artists of all different disciplines. We really put the Venice 2 through its paces during this shoot day, utilizing multiple crop factors on different anamorphic lenses, high speed, and different base ISOs as we shot through sunset into dusk. Subtle grain was added to the final image in the color grading process.

Lenses were a mix of @atlaslensco Mercury 1.5x anamorphics and @xelmusanamorphic Apollo Mk II 2x anamorphics. Full crew credits below - and more stills and BTS coming soon:

"We had the unique opportunity to be the first major project to shoot on the Fujifilm Eterna GFX 55. Anything we did with the camera was the first time it had been done. Our goal on this project was not to create a typical camera launch film or test footage, but rather to shoot a full-fledged short film and to really put the camera through its paces in extreme filming conditions to really push it to its limits. Thank you Fujifilm for the excelsior time @camerimage.festival in Poland waxing about Large Format Storytelling with @orensofferdp — we had the privilege to make the first film ever shot on Fujifilm’s GFX ETERNA 55 camera, unsheathing its splendors to the world.

We also got to experience EnergaCameraimage, the most prestigious cinematography film festival on the planet. What a gift. Especially breaking bread with the legendary Andrzej Bartkowiak— lenser of SPEED, THE VERDICT, and TERMS OF ENDEARMENT— and director of ROMEO MUST DIE and EXIT WOUNDS.

BUT— the ultimate privilege was traveling the world — eating pirogies and goose stomach soup — and talking art and war stories with friends, both old and new.

More to come… 🎥 ✍️

OKAY is a science-fiction film about grief. This is first in a series of behind-the-scenes on OKAY, the first film shot on Fujifilm’s GFX ETERNA 55– directed by yours truly, shot by light bender @orensofferdp and produced by @elmofetch @fujifilmproduction — starring the iconic Academy-Award nominated Kathleen Quinlan who just ripped a hole in the space time continuum of acting for this project. Can’t wait for all of you to see the full spacechilda in 2026. taken in Pacific City, Oregon by @andrew.vhs
