Antonio Salieri / F. Murray Abraham
Last night at MoMA Cinema here in Manhattan, we went to see Amadeus (1984) — and then this happened…
F. Murray Abraham himself, present in the audience.
He took the podium and shared a few words — thoughtful, generous and witty— including a quick story about filming this role while also working on Scarface at the same time.
He won the Oscar for Antonio Salieri in this film as Salieri as , as he deserved . Recently, I’ve been revisiting Homeland the TV series, with him and Claire Danes — another powerful performer ! . 50 years in this profession - what a elegant master.
Such a pleasure. Such a surprise.
