A proud milestone: my first feature in @forbes

Last month, Berkeley Travel had the honour of being the presenting partner of this historic event. International cultural diplomacy organisation @liberatum honoured legendary Indigenous leader Chief Raoni Metuktire with the 13th Liberatum Cultural Honour at a landmark gala held at CÉ LA VI London. The emotional and powerful tribute brought together global leaders from the arts, activism, politics, and philanthropy to celebrate the 93-year-old Kayapó chief’s lifelong fight to protect the Amazon and Indigenous rights.

The evening was co-hosted by Benedict Cumberbatch, @anitta , Bianca Jagger, Baroness Young of Hornsey, British Vogue’s Chioma Nnadi, Trudie Styler, and Zac Goldsmith, among others. Notable guests included Julia Fox, Sir Anthony Gormley, Akala, and Dame Helena Kennedy KC. Earlier that day, Chief Raoni was received at St James’s Palace for a private audience with His Majesty King Charles III, coinciding with the CBA Nature First Economy event—reaffirming his critical voice in the global environmental movement.

Last weekend I was lucky enough to experience the Orient Express Corinthian, the largest sailing yacht in the world, on a two-night voyage from Monaco to Marseille.

With just 54 suites on board, it feels as though you’ve chartered your own private yacht, and you only occasionally cross paths with other guests. Under sail, it was remarkably smooth from start to finish.

Space is the quiet luxury here. Even the entry suites begin at 48 square metres, more than most city hotel rooms.

Everything is included, and the generosity shows. The house champagne is Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame 2015, poured as freely.

Corinthian spends summers sailing Europe and winters in the Caribbean. In May 2027 she’ll be joined by a sister yacht, Orient Express Olympian, and we’re already planning voyages for clients on both.

Aman Nai Lert, Bangkok — Aman’s newest city hotel, and one of the most talked-about openings in Asia

Tucked into a sal forest in the foothills above Dehradun, my two weeks here was less a stay and more a slow recalibration. A typical day moved at its own pace. Unhurried mornings, a sattvic thali built around balance rather than excess, and the low hum of Tibetan singing bowls held over the forehead until the noise in your head finally settles.

Between the treatments there was still room to play. Rebounding by the water, a few competitive sets of padel, then an open-air film once the light dropped and the canopy lit up overhead.

I came home lighter than I left. That, I think, is rather the point of Vana. @sixsensesvana

There is a moment in a sound bath at Six Senses Vana when you stop listening and start feeling it instead. The singing bowls settle into your chest, the gong moves through the floor, and the noise you carried in from the outside world quietly loses its grip.

Returning to the iconic Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc, the 32nd edition of the @amfar Gala Cannes raised an extraordinary $20 million in support of lifesaving biomedical research, marking the most successful fundraising result since 2016.

One of the evening’s most coveted auction lots was a five-night stay at One&Only Aesthesis, valued at €350,000 and generously donated by @berkeleytravel in partnership with Mr. Gerald Krischek @gkrischek, General Manager of the exceptional Greek resort.

It was a privilege to attend this year’s Gala and a true honour to serve as an Event Chair on behalf of Berkeley Travel, supporting amfAR’s vital mission to advance groundbreaking medical research and improve lives around the world.

Berkeley Travel at the @amfar Gala 2026

The gala returned to @hotelducapedenroc last night, hosted by @geenadavis and performances by @robbiewilliams @zaraaccess and @lizzobeeating .

Bidding ran into the millions: a full set of Andy Warhol Marilyns at €2.8m, an Audemars Piguet at €1.45m, Chopard diamond earrings at €600k.
Our lot, five nights at @ooaesthesis donated by Berkeley Travel together with the resort, was won in the room for €300,000. Every euro going to incredible causes.

A special thank you to Gerald @gkrischek GM of One&Only Aesthesis, and his team for making this happen. To the room for the bidding. To the winning bidder, the Athenian Riviera is waiting.

Berkeley Travel and @ooaesthesis at the @amfar Gala 2026

A collaboration we’ve been quietly working on for months.

We’ve partnered with One&Only Aesthesis to donate a private stay on the Athenian Riviera, going under the hammer at the amfAR Gala on Thursday 21 May.
Five nights at the resort’s two beachfront villas, Villa One and Villa Nostos. Up to eight guests. A private host. A sundowner cruise.

Putting a lot together at this level takes a long-standing partnership and a shared view on what hospitality can stand for. We’re proud to be doing it alongside One&Only Aesthesis, and proud that one bidder’s five nights on the Riviera will go toward a cause we both care about.
