Back home from a whirlwind trip to Whitehorse!

Jazz Yukon has to be one of the best jazz societies that I have had the pleasure to perform for. They were some of the most well organized, hospitable and accommodating people, who put on a fantastic night at the @yukonarts Centre!

Thanks so much to @lachlan_craven for putting this project together and asking me to come perform with this great band.

I hope to be back to Whitehorse, and the Yukon again soon! taken in Whitehorse, Yukon by @andrewjanusson

Yukon bound, Whitehorse, we’re coming for you, this Sunday!

Trumpet Fiesta presents a hard-swingin’ sweet & soulful program starring virtuoso Miguelito Valdes described as one of Cuba’s most highly regarded trumpet players of his generation and young lion Lachlan Craven; coming together to share the rare beauty of two trumpets playing together in a quintet setting. Completing the Quintet is an all-star rhythm section consisting of Andrew Janusson, Drake Shoemaker, and Kelby MacNayr. Showcasing well known two-trumpet repertoire as well as original arrangements; 2 delicately crafted sets of music have been created for this special show. One night only!

Miguelito Valdes carries a rich history of performing with many of Cuba’s top performers, including the Cabaret Tropicana Orquesta, Pablo Milanes, Isaac Delgado, Chucho Valdes, and has participated in award-winning recordings such as “La Rumba Soy Yo”, which won a Latin Grammy in 2001. He has also played with seminal jazz musicians abroad, including Michael Brecker, Herbie Hancock, John Patitucci, Danilo Perez, and Wayne Shorter. taken in The Yukon Arts Centre by @andrewjanusson
