🎷✨ Spirit of Jazz & Soul: VTC Summer Concert Series — Concert #6 ✨🎷

Some evenings stay with you long after the final note.

This Friday, experience the captivating artistry of Ashley Wey @ashleyweymusic - an acclaimed pianist, vocalist, and arranger whose music beautifully bridges timeless jazz traditions with a fresh, contemporary voice.

Inspired by legends like Nat “King” Cole and modern artists such as Robert Glasper, Ashley has crafted a style that is uniquely her own—warm, expressive, and deeply engaging.

Joining her are two exceptional musicians: acclaimed bassist Louis Rudner @rudner.louis - a cornerstone of Victoria’s jazz community, and Nanaimo virtuoso guitarist Andrew Janusson @andrewjanusson - whose lyrical playing and remarkable musicianship have earned him recognition across Vancouver Island and beyond.

Together, they’ll create an intimate evening of jazz, soul, and song—filled with rich harmonies, inspired improvisation, and the kind of musical connection that can only happen live.

✨ Slow down. Listen deeply. Share the evening with someone you love.

📅 Friday, July 24

A few clips from a VERY fun gig last Friday! Much love to this monster band and to everyone who came out 🫶

If you missed out, mark your calendars for the fall - I’ll be back in Victoria on September 27th to celebrate my upcoming album release!

1. @andrewjanusson ‘s tune Shangdu 🫠
2. A cheeky little snippet of a new tune that doesn’t have a name yet🫣
3. The head out of my tune “The Path” - this one won’t be out until August when the full album releases, but the first single “Gratitude” is out everywhere! You can buy it on bandcamp at the link in my bio or stream it wherever you get your music :)

I had no idea when I left for my gig at Hermann’s Jazz Club last night, it would be my last.

The end of an era is an understatement.
