A little appreciation post for my vertical girlies and some of my favorite shows they’ve carried on their backs. Honestly, they’re the reason I keep watching.

Women in this space are still so often overshadowed by their male counterparts, rarely given the chance to simply live, exist, look stunning, and not be written to suffer. But despite that, they remain the very definition of courage, resilience, power, and heart. There would be no story, none at all, without their talent, their skill, and the effort they pour into every scene.

I hope that somewhere in one of their characters, you found a piece of yourself. I hope they gave you strength, comfort, or even just a reminder that you can fight your own battles the way they fight theirs.

Women are so much stronger than society gives them credit for, and these girlies prove it every day.

Maybe I'll do a part 2 because there are so many vertical actresses who deserve the same spotlight. I just haven’t had the time to watch more of their shows to choose what to highlight. But I will, soon!

A little recap: I know I’ve been handing out a lot of low-to-mid scores since the beginning of the year, and that’s never meant to discredit the incredible work, effort, and passion that the creatives pour into these productions.

I understand that, by vertical standards, familiar and repeated storylines are part of the landscape. My ratings, however, are based on my own personal standards as a viewer. As a girly whose number one priority is a compelling story paired with excellent execution, my scores will naturally reflect what resonates with me.

This show is the 2nd stepsibling romance I’ve seen this month. I know, pretty ironic and pathetic for someone who claims to hate the trope. But in my defense, they keep casting my favorite people.

Can I ask? Why there’s so much of these being released lately?! Is this a thing now or is everyone watching just for the actors as well? 😭

@charmedbyverticals you’re absolutely right. I shoudn’t be making reviews while on my “.” because I be way harsher and “honest” than normal. But as you know, I’m just a hater so you’re used to it by now. 😂 by @andreyapping
