1. Most of what you touch is not worth buying. The ratio of junk to gems is brutal. Nobody shows that part. IG makes it look like every sourcing trip is a treasure hunt. In reality it’s hours of nothing before the one thing. 2. You can’t search for something specific like you can online. What you find is what you find. It looks like a curated hunt from the outside, but the reality is mostly chance, and the best pieces are always the ones you weren’t even looking for. 3. You’re doing math the entire time: margin, condition, shipping weight, will it sell back home. And it’s all cash, so you’re also tracking what you’re spending as you go, overspending a little here, finding a steal there, hoping it balances out by the end. It may look instinctive and effortless from the outside. In reality it’s a spreadsheet running in your head while your hands are full of fabric and cash. 4. You’re on your feet from early morning till late, and by the end of the day your body is done. Last trip my back hurt so badly I needed painkillers just to keep going. It might look like a glamorous day out. The reality is closer to manual labor. 5. Sometimes you find something incredible and still have to walk away. Last trip it was beautiful furs and shearling—wrong season, would’ve hurt my cashflow to sit on them. I know I’ll never find those exact pieces again. People assume if you love it, you buy it. The reality is the business decision usually wins. 6. You always come home with less than you hoped for. Last trip I found nearly nothing all day, then passed one last stand on the way to the tram, packed with deadstock Max Mara. Came home with a full bag. It looks like every trip ends in a haul. The reality is you never know until the very last stop. 7. The best sourcing isn’t random luck, it’s relationships built over years. I’ve got sellers who text me first when something good comes in, before it hits the stand. It looks like every find is a lucky accident. In reality, some of the best ones are years in the making. So talk to people, save that number—it pays off later. Exhausting, unpredictable, and still one of my fave parts of running this business. 10/10 would recommend. 🤎 by @anew.boutique
I tell people I’m a “curator” because it sounds more elevated than “woman with a shopping habit and a fluctuating bank account.” The reality of this job is a constant cycle of heartbreak. My inventory is essentially just a list of things I desperately wanted to keep, but: 1. They didn’t fit me like a glove. 2. Or, more honestly? I’m low on cash flow and I can’t afford to be my own best customer this month. I’m not looking for “stock”, I’m looking for my soulmate outfit. You guys just get to benefit whenever my closet is full or my rent is due. Welcome to my shop. If it’s here, it’s only because I (sadly) couldn’t find a way to make it mine. 🖤 by @anew.boutique
Hello, I’m Laura. If you’ve ever had to start over, this one is for you. Swipe through for the full, honest story behind ANEW. It hasn’t always been easy: from running a physical store in Berlin (and having to close it down) to making the scary decision to pivot away from a successful online shop to gain creative freedom. I’ve also been honest about how lonely working from home gets. That’s why, despite the fear, I’m considering opening a showroom or store again soon to connect with you all. Your support truly transforms the whole hustle. Thank you for enabling the vintage hunts, the ANEW STUDIO designs, and the joy of coming to work every single day. 💙 by @anew.boutique

Invited by the vintage clothing store @anew.boutique , three years after the first group pop up Urzula Vol returns to Wolstraaat 24. Bringing together jewellery and photography Urzula Vol explores what happens when jewellery leaves the atelier and becomes part of someone else’s world. Jewellery pieces were given to a group of people, inviting them to explore their individual relationships with jewellery through self-portraits. Moving beyond the identity of the brand, each participant selected and wore the jewellery in their own way, creating self-portraits that reflect their personal interpretation, style and expression. Portraits made by @evahilinski @feodorbrodski @juliawaraks @_sieme @siemehermans @zorianatymtsiv @tymtsiv_styling Poster photo @tymtsiv_styling Opening on 23.10, starting 18:00. On display from 24.10 until 31.10 Store is closed on Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays See you!! by @anew.boutique

Starting tomorrow night, we’re opening our doors for MOMENTUM by @paoladenarvaez Captured here in the home of Vincent Van Duysen, her sculptures capture movement suspended in time: exploring stillness, form, and human connection. Along with her fine art and Equinox ceramics, we collaborated on custom accessories using hand-sculpted pendants by Paola, a complimentary gift with every purchase during the show. Come meet Paola (@paoladenarvaez), see the pieces up close, and join us for a drink! (Curtesy @ateliercuarenta) 🗓 Sept 25 – Oct 3 ⏰ Opening Night: Friday, Sept 25 at 18:00 📍 ANEW — Wolstraat 24, Antwerp DM for preview inquiries! by @anew.boutique
Antwerp isn’t Disneyland, guys. 😭 Not a single head turn for 10 straight minutes, just pure, unbothered wall-to-wall blocking. Shoutout to the tour guide for picking our front door as the official lecture hall today! Support local, or at least let our actual customers walk through the door please. 🫠 by @anew.boutique
