Many of us inherited the habit of hiding our pain.

“I’m fine” becomes the default.

But what if we unlearned that?

Taking five minutes to honestly ask, “How am I actually doing today?” creates space to acknowledge what we’re feeling instead of burying it.

You can’t navigate what you refuse to name. 🌱

We’re exploring this more in an upcoming @migrantwealthbuilders podcast episode with @selina151215. 🎙️

What’s your default when someone asks if you’re okay? “I’m fine” — or are you learning to open up?

👇 Tell us in the comments.

✨ Sometimes the right space can be the start of something much bigger.

It was wonderful celebrating a special milestone with @nicolebaldinu, @omarzenhom and @the100mba team for the launch of their new Sydney studio and 12 years in business! 🎉

What I loved is that this isn't simply another workspace. It's designed for creators, entrepreneurs, ideas and community a place to work alongside each other, share knowledge and spark new collaborations.

Their words sum it up perfectly: “Not coworking. Co-building.”
That really resonated with me.

I believe there is something powerful about bringing the right people together in the right environment. It's one of the reasons I love creating events, experiences and opportunities for people to connect.

One of my favourite activities of the night was also one of the simplest, share your best business advice in five words or less.

Some of my favourites:
💡 Stay in touch.
💡 Don't give up.
💡 Let yourself fly.
💡 Take imperfect action.
💡 Your stories are your gold.
💡 Follow energy, not just opportunity.

They also announced The $100 MBA Residency, a month-long opportunity for creators and entrepreneurs to work alongside their team in the studio.

The evening was filled with Mediterranean-inspired food and drinks, studio tours, stories from the past 12 years, games, prizes and, most importantly, plenty of great conversations.

It was also wonderful catching up with @imperobyoksana, @anferneec as well as connecting with other entrepreneurs and creatives throughout the evening including @nicolehatherly_ , @dalejbeaumont, @dainwalker, @therebeccasaunders, Andrew Cheung, @toni.bache, @sammisomewhere

Now over to you, what's your best piece of business advice in five words or less? 👇

One of my goals this year is to improve my fitness, so I've been joining Saturday 🏀 runs.

It's a slow process for this unfit 47 yr old, but after 1 month of showing up on the court I can feel my stamina improving.

For someone who played competition bball throughout high school and in my 20s, it's humbling to know the mind can see things happening but the body can't keep up. Like passes not landing, or shots not falling.

I find myself getting frustrated in game, and I've injured my finger and there's aches in my body after each game.

I remind myself that being on the court is a win, and pain is what it feels like to get stronger.

Because we all have a choice - to watch life pass us by or to participate in it. I'm choosing to participate.

Shoutout to @riseyouthbasketball.au for all the support, community, and making these runs happen. by @anferneec

🌟 Feature Fridays | The Launch of Creative Community Catch-Up ✨

Creative Community Catch-Up was created because I genuinely love bringing people together and creating opportunities to connect. 💛

My hope is that these monthly gatherings become a welcoming space to connect, share ideas, support one another and simply enjoy great conversations without the pressure of formal networking.

✨ One conversation can lead to...
🤝 A new friendship
🎨 A creative collaboration
💼 A business opportunity
🧑‍🎨 Empowering & inspiring creatives
💛 Or simply the reassurance we're not alone on this creative journey

The positive feedback from our very first catch-up has been so encouraging and confirms there's a real desire for a community like this. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us.

✨ This is just the beginning!
Our next Creative Community Catch-Up on the 28th August at @haystmarket from 6pm, is now open for registrations and it's completely FREE. Comment "CREATIVE" and I'll send you the details!

💛 Would you like to support the community?
As the Creative Community Catch-Up continues to grow. I'm looking to collaborate with people, brands, businesses, organisations or council, who share the vision of building a stronger creative community.

I'm currently looking for:
 📸 Photographers
 🎥 Videographers
 🏙️ Unique venues around Sydney
 🤝 Community partners & sponsors

💬 Comment below or pm if you would like to be part of the journey, I would love to hear from you! And if you joined us at the launch, what was your favourite part of the evening?

Success is easy to admire.

What we don't often see are the sacrifices, self-doubt, setbacks, and quiet moments that happen long before anyone notices the wins.

In this clip from my conversation with ANF, we talk about the side of success that rarely makes it onto social media.

Maybe success isn't about having it all figured out—maybe it's about continuing anyway.

What's one thing people never see behind someone else's success?

Hitting the shot is great
but I enjoy the art of the assist more.

When I started playing basketball I was in grade 7. I was 5 feet 3 inches (1.6 metres).

I knew I'd never be able to dunk like a Jordan, Kobe, or Vince Carter.

The only advantages I had to beat taller giants on the court were my speed, and my ability to set up my team members to score.

I particularly loved the challenge of finding ways to throw unexpected passes to cutting team members.

When I had a growth spurt in year 9, hitting 6 feet 1 (1.85 metres) my passing ability stuck with me. My height also allowed me to improve my defense, another way I could help my team.

Some of that was on display this morning. my fitness level is not where I'd like it to be, but I'm grateful that I can still contribute in the court.

and @startupball is a great initiative for getting out, moving the body and enjoying a fun time connecting with other folks (founders, investors, operators) in the startup ecosystem. this is community building in action.

shoutout to @theguidedfounder & 🌱 Mivin Mathew for keeping the runs alive in Sydney, and of course to the legend Mark "Z" Zmarzly 🦄 for starting this movement in Aus.
