There is something sacred about the moment a child becomes a sibling.

The transition isn’t always seamless. There are big feelings, tender moments, and new rhythms to learn. But woven through it all is the beginning of a lifelong bond. 🥹

There are sessions that fill your portfolio, and then there are sessions that quietly refill your creativity.

This week, I spent time in a charming little town on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, and I’m feeling so grateful for the chance to slow down, create, and connect alongside such a talented group of photographers.

There is something about motherhood that continually pulls me back toward my camera.

The way love lives in the smallest gestures. A hand wrapped tightly around yours, a cheek pressed against your shoulder, the offering of a flower like it is the greatest treasure in the world.

I think I’m endlessly drawn to women and florals for the same reason.
Both are soft, yet resilient. Delicate, yet enduring. Neither are perfect…and that is exactly where their beauty lives.

The wilted edges. The undone hair. The tired eyes. The hands that give and give and give.

Motherhood asks women to pour themselves out daily, often quietly and without recognition. And yet, within that sacrifice, there is so much beauty. So much art.

I think that’s what I’m always searching for when I photograph mothers and their children…not perfection, but connection. The feeling of being deeply loved. The fleeting moments that deserve to be remembered long after this season passes.
