ANGEL CHEN 2025SS CAMPAIGN “NOMADIC MAP” ANGEL CHEN has always been committed to reinterpreting traditional culture through contemporary fashion language. After last year’s fashion week, I wanted the SS25 campaign to showcase a fresh visual direction unlike anything before. During a conversation with my good friend and the campaign’s stylist, Inggrad Shek, we discovered the brilliant photographer Szilveszter Makó. A Hungarian independent photographer, Szilveszter has previously shot Michelle Yeoh’s cover for W Magazine China. His unique play of light and perspective gives his work a Renaissance oil-painting quality while maintaining striking visual impact—perfectly blending classical and modern aesthetics. This aligns seamlessly with ANGEL CHEN’s philosophy of exploring traditional craftsmanship through contemporary design. For this campaign, we co-created a dynamic “heavenly steed”.Adorned with leftover fabric from our signature split-weaving technique and hand-painted crimson details, the horse rears up mid-gallop alongside billowing flags—embodying the triumphant spirit of a modern-day female general returning victorious. A New Story in Milan｜10 Corso Como Scraps of Life is a story about being seen again. Over the years, my studio has accumulated leftover fabrics, knit swatches and forgotten fragments. We reweave and reconstruct these overlooked materials into new textiles, garments and art pieces — giving what was once discarded a longer life. But this exhibition was never a solo effort. It brings together artisans and artists from across China — from reweaving artisans in Guizhou and Tibet, to textile, wood, mask-making and knitting artists — each bringing their own hands, techniques and stories to the work. Together with my Shanghai team, we transform these handwoven textiles into garments and accessories. Many hands. Many stories. One new life. They were once scraps. Then they became materials. Here’s to a future where harmony between humanity and nature isn’t just a dream—where ancient Chinese sustainable crafts gain global recognition and uplift artisan communities. 💪 ✍️ Sharing the story behind my latest work“Yeti’s Footprints” When glacier climbers chase the shadow of the Yeti, they find only their own reflection on the ice. To me, the Yeti symbolizes “self-transcendence”—its fur both armor and shackle. For the Earth, it represents the toxicity of leather and synthetic fur, the fashion industry’s relentless consumption; for the soul, it’s the weight of self-doubt. But the Inuit’s seal-skin garments taught me: survival in extremes isn’t about conquest, but coexistence This collection is a “awakening”, born from three years of nomadic creation. The Yeti’s footprints trace humanity’s mark on Earth—beautiful yet haunting, as pollution reaches even the polar glaciers. Our planet is fractured, as are our spirits. Through sustainable textiles, I seek to mend these fragments—of ecology, identity, and purpose. It’s my nomadic manifesto, a rebuilding of self and vision. Clothing, to me, is more than fabric. 和棣棣其实合作过很多次了，但这是第一次为他设计演唱会舞台服装，整个感受下来，棣棣真的是一位特别特别好的人。 这次我是给王鹤棣D.PARTY 曼谷演唱会定制第2Part的服装，灵感还是来自于我们2025SS这套磨破水洗牛仔套装。棣棣在11月份就已经试穿了这套衣服，非常非常好看。我当时就在想，这次到底要怎么设计才能更精彩、更惊喜呢？ 于是我加上了超多超多的施华洛世奇水钻，然后手工磨破牛仔面料，打造盛放的效果，加上珠绣、管绣、水钻等，让盛放的效果更加逼真，在舞台的灯光下也会光芒四射、闪闪发光。 腰带部分我们采用了3D立体打印来制作，效果非常酷。前面是立体花字Dylan并且加上了他很喜欢的恶魔翅膀元素，通过镀银工艺和水钻使其看起来更加酷炫、夺目。值得一提的是衣服后背还有3D打印的W的立体字以及恶魔翅膀
与腰带呼应，希望小翅膀可以带着棣棣越飞越高！🪽🪽🪽

上个月受SHAWAM Studio Jacky的邀请以“文艺复兴”为主题，为performer Joya设计一套作品以致敬John Galliano无与伦比的创造力。 John Galliano是我最最最喜欢的偶像，可以说像神一样的存在。我至今还记得06年的时候在Vogue China 上看到2007春夏蝴蝶夫人，那一瞬间，我的脑子感觉被轰炸了！除了华丽的服饰，我更被他创造的如梦般的视觉宇宙所深深震撼！可以说正是 John Galliano，让我萌发了想要做时装设计师的念头，也正是他，让我在时装设计这条道路上一直坚持到现在。 这次我以“蝴蝶夫人”为灵感，加入2003秋冬千禧中国的Y2k风格，减弱了“蝴蝶夫人”的凄美感而增添了更多的霸气和力量感。 整套衣服分里外两层，里面是一条装饰了皮草领的斜肩裹身长裙，立体手绣盘金龙从前面延展至背部。另一边无袖的设计可以让舞者自由、灵动地起舞。外套则是大廓形的斗篷大衣，宽阔的灯笼袖以手工捏褶打造立体感，草木染面料隐隐透露着暗金色，透露着复古感的同时又十分奢华。 头饰则来自我合作很久的造型师Inggrad Shek，她将杨睿3D打印的墨镜与我们25春夏苗族银片相结合，一朵朵立体绽放点银色立体花瓣生机、灵动。同时，我们从花市买来了松枝兰花与鸢尾，以银漆喷汇与整个头饰融合，呈现出更加怪诞诡谲华丽精美的风格。 看着Joya在Anti General 的beats中肆意扭动，我们仿佛回到了当年那个崇尚个人风格，自由、文化激荡的年代。在评审的认可下，一不小心又拿了个冠军🏆嘻嘻😁 当然获奖与否并没有那么重要，大家一起放肆发疯真的很快乐！ by @angelchenwig
