A few years ago, I was visiting a friend (Quinten)near Rotterdam when he said, “Let’s take some pictures here.” 📸

Fast forward to last year, when I had just started my new job. I ended up coming back to that exact same spot for work, only to realise I’d been there before. Suddenly, a place I hadn’t thought much about in years brought back a memory I still remember so clearly.

Back then, I had a completely stock Mx5. Its already been six years since I got the car, and since then, I’ve had countless ideas, made plenty of changes, and dreamed about all the things I wanted to do with it.

Looking back now, I realise how much has changed, both with the car and along the way. And honestly, I’m happy with where I am today. Grateful for the memories, the journey, and the fact that I still get to enjoy such an amazing car.

Funny how a random place can bring you right back to a moment in time.

Currently rebuilding a 1.8 VVT for the MX-5. Engine is looking great, just waiting for the crankshaft to come back from the machine shop and a few more parts to arrive.

The only thing stressing me out is the deadline I set for myself before August. Two months ago I said: “It’ll be done in a week.” Biggest lie ever. 😅

Huge thanks to everyone who has helped with advice, parts @bofiracing recommendations, and technical knowledge along the way. Couldn’t have gotten this far without you.

NB Miata -> ECU Master ecu install. It's out with the old, in with the new! This VVT swapped NB1 got a Plug&play module installed.

Next up: finishing up the final mechanical and tuning it!
