a love letter to immortal consequences 🗡️⏳🌌

a beautifully heartbreaking story on finding humanity in an environment that doesn’t keep it—losing yourself in a slow, breaking manner. a story on friendships and the lengths you go to love someone despite the odds.

i.v. marie created a beautifully dark and gothic atmosphere on the edge of the afterlife with six characters you can’t help but love: wren, august, emilio, olivier, irene, & maskia. each character has their own personality, their own stories that grip you, and all their own fates rushing towards them through the decennial trials. this story is drenched in romance: a quiet exploration of love between three different duos that bleed into the entire group.

it is here!!!! don’t panic!!!! (I’m panicking!!!)

I’m SO beyond excited to jump into the knave and the moon & hey, incredibly terrified 😍 I just know this one is going to make me kick my feet while mascara runs down my face ahhh!!! I absolutely adored the knight and the moth and I’m finishing up my reread today and immediately jumping into the knave and the moon!!!

I can’t believe that after this book their story ends but I’m excited to see how it concludes 🥹💘 I’ll see you once the story ends, bartholomew ✉️ by @angs.bookcorner

a love letter to ruinous ends 🗝️🫀⏳🔮🏹

how do i begin to explain my love for this duology? immortal consequences became one of my favorite books last year when i read it as an arc. and now, almost a year later i was lucky enough to read ruinous ends early and it was, like book one, an easy five star read for me!!

there is something about this story that has just completely captured my heart. this duology, at it’s very soul, is about hope. in an afterlife that takes and takes and takes from these characters, it is hard to hold onto hope. wren, august, emilio, olivier, masika, & irene are constantly tested in this world. their very souls are in the hands of a dark power that can wipe their existence out with a snap of a finger.

book two delves deeper into this dark afterlife: power is being placed into the wrong hands, souls are being captured, shadows are growing, and a prophecy that can destroy the afterlife is being put forth. from the beginning of book two, i already knew that this one was going to break my heart, and that it did! the world was expanded on, the past was explored, and the magic grew darker and more intense.

the romance in book two was beyond beautiful (& heartbreaking). because of the ending of book one, there was a lot of broken trust, and a lot of dividing between characters but the love all these characters have for each other just flourished. the ending of this duology was one of the most beautiful endings to a book I’ve ever read. it felt so right for the characters & story. it was heartbreaking, and yet so fulfilling.

this was such a hauntingly lush story that I absolutely fell in love with. a dark, gothic story on grief, love, and the art in surviving.

c.g. drews wrote an absolute masterpiece with a love story drenched in hand drawn monsters, over grown gardens, written stories coming to life, and pain that becomes a comfort. right from chapter one I was immediately invested and horrified (complimentary). andrew the haunted writer & thomas the cursed artist—how I became deeply enthralled by these characters and captured by this story!

I loved the highlight on creativity in this book. it was used as a means to an end but also a beginning. please read this physically because even though the writing was very descriptive and I could easily see the monsters in my head, in the book there are actual drawings that came from Thomas’s sketch book that just make the reading experience even better!

the love story between andrew & thomas absolutely destroyed me! they are fated for each other and yet…😫 the angst, the yearning, oh my I’ll cry!!! I will forever think about their story, their ink stained hands, the tortured love they have for one another. A MASTERPIECE!!!

AND that ending…I was destroyed 😭 this was the first book I read from c.g. drews and it will not be the last! this is a perfect horror book—I LOVED it oh so so much!!!

when I saw a booth of resin daggers during the @booksgownsandcrowns convention you know the fantasy reader in me was beyond ecstatic!! so naturally I bought three daggers!!

I’m so obsessed with these & i need them displayed in my room immediately!!! these were made by the incredible @ambersbookedlife !!

I couldn’t pick a favorite 🧎‍♀️ so here are some recommendations based off of what I felt the dagger ✨gave✨!! I totally see these daggers being used in these books!!! I’M OBSESSED!!

once again I’m late to a trend!! 😍 but I love seeing everyone’s book taste through these prompts!!

if there is one thing about me, it’s that you’ll know when I love a book because I will never stop talking about it and I will reread it like my life depends on it (looking at unloved by peyton corinne)!!

I have so many books preordered even ones I have already read as arcs!! I have already preordered three copies of twisted vows by i.v. marie — one for me & 2 for friends!!! (im just a girl what can I say)

I have been meaning to get to the four books on my tbr (among the other 190 🫪) we have a theme of ✨emotional destruction ✨ among the books on my tbr & the books I will never stop recommending!!! 🙂‍↕️

and obviously as a chronic rereader, I will forever read & reread anything written by peyton corinne and I NEED to reread it’s different this time by joss richard because I absolutely loved that book!! and hey my favorite book ever is a little life by hanya yanagihara…what can I say I love a book that actually ✨destroys me✨!!!

I read this back in february and I still don’t have enough words to describe my absolute love for this book. right from page one I immediately knew this would be a five star read. Adelaide will be in my heart for forever. I hope this post/review does, at least, a little bit of justice to this beautifully heartbreaking story!! 💌 by @angs.bookcorner
