I absolutely cannot believe itā€™s been over three & a half weeks since this dream of a night. Thank you for capturing it so vividly @lucindagoodwinphotography, youā€™re amazing. Since the show Iā€™ve been sick twice, visited the Gold Coast/Movieworld, played at a wedding in Uluru (thank you @elopeaustralia), had some cathartic family time in Healesville & Phillip Island, introduced Claire to the Bale/Nolan Batman trilogy, settled into my new side quest/job at @thecardcaveau, eaten wonderful food, failed at cooking wonderful food, spent time with my beautiful pals and completed a very exciting secret life manoeuvre which Iā€™ll probably post about at some point soon. This hiatus is heaven, Iā€™m so stoked to be exploring different avenues & spaces, hereā€™s to more joy & freedom. Thanks again to everyone that came down and supported me at the show, I love you all. ps. I also only have a few vinyls left, if you still want one, this is probably the last chance you will have to get ur hands on one !! šŸ«Ø šŸ“ø: @lucindagoodwinphotography by @angusleggmusic
I know for a fact, unfortunately this is all too relatable for Australians. Alcohol is by far the most dangerous drug on the market. Not only because of the physical and emotional affects it has on individuals and families, but also how casual we are about our use. For christ sake, bottle shops were considered 1 of 5 essential services during a global pandemic!! Thatā€™s insanity. One half of me wants to say ā€œthanks god for thatā€ cause being drunk is fun as hell, the other half thinks itā€™s completely absurd that we deem poisoning ourselves slowly an essential service. My addiction wasnā€™t severe, but I used alcohol as a substance to make me more confident socially. I got to the age of 28 and couldnā€™t remember the last time Iā€™d socialised sober. What an alarming statistic. It helped soothe my social anxiety, it still does. Iā€™ve managed to spend 9 of the last 24 months sober, which is bloody fantastic. I have no desire to be sober 24/7, I just want to improve my relationship with alcohol. My father was an alcoholic until he was 40 years old, itā€™s definitely a social & genetic tripwire for me. My father managed to spend the last 23 years of his life completely sober, Iā€™m super proud of him for that achievement. Itā€™s truly difficult to give something up that has had a huge grip on your life for any number of years, itā€™s a brave act. Those who never start or donā€™t struggle with it find it hard to understand, so major commendations to those of you that have started & stopped, and continue to strive for better. Our society isnā€™t set up to help those that struggle with substance!! Anyway, rant over. Enjoy my song x šŸŽ„: @kurtcroner šŸ : @therainbowhotel #singersongwriter #alcoholism #independentartist #melbourneartist #folk by @angusleggmusic
This is what my musical representation of what falling in love felt like for me. This song is called ā€œWhat Did You Start in Meā€. ā€œTonight weā€™re tribal, weā€™re baring our skin, Honest revival, exposing our sins, Starting a wildfire, scorching the seed, Iā€™m on my knees What Did You Start in Meā€? šŸŽ„: @kurtcroner šŸ : @bergybandroom #Melbourneartist #livemusic #singersongwriter #independentartist #EPrelease by @angusleggmusic
ā€œShow, donā€™t tellā€ is one of my favourite songwriting concepts/rules. Hereā€™s a breakdown of the first verse from a song I wrote called ā€œWhat Did You Start in Meā€ As fan of clever lyricism and unique story-telling, this is one of the most pivotal concepts or ā€˜rulesā€™ that I always keep coming back to when Iā€™m writing my stories. There are a million ways to convey the who, what, where, how, where and why within a story without directly spelling it out! Iā€™m no master of the art just yet, but itā€™s really satisfying when something like this comes together. I could talk for hours about this, I tried to keep this video as brief as possible. I enjoyed making this video, which is rare to say about a piece of content, should I make more? #songwriting #singersongwriter #melbourneartist #lyrics #storytelling by @angusleggmusic
Vinyls have landed! And they are perfect šŸ„ŗ. A huge thanks to @replicat_australia & @zenithrecords for the design, production and support throughout this process. This was my first time creating a run of vinyls, they were incredibly supportive and helpful throughout! DM me or leave a comment if youā€™d like to get your hands on one! #singersongwriter #vinyl #melbourneartist #independentartist #folk by @angusleggmusic
Did I mention you should listen from start to finish? ps. I recommend this for all bodies of work, track listing is very intentional! x #EP #Melbourneartist #singersongwriter #folk #independentartist by @angusleggmusic
