seeing BIGBANG perform live not once but twice for their 20th anniversary has been such an emotional experience 🥹💛🥹💛🥹💛 i've been a fan since 2007 so can you imagine how hard i cried when LIES and HARUHARU came on 😭😭😭 these songs were (and still are) absolutely legendary. this group has brought me so much inspiration, strength, and joy over the past two decades. i am so proud of our kpop kings!!!

guess what, we actually shot both photosets in ONE DAY!!! crazy? yes, it was crazy.

let me recap how it all went down: on March 2nd, we took a 3h high speed rail from Hong Kong West Kowloon to Guilin, then hopped into a Didi to Yangshuo (~1h) since HSR tickets were sold out. we got in around 7pm, grabbed a quick bite, and went straight to bed because we had to be up by 《《1:30AM》》!!!

why so early? we only had 2 full days. day 1 was basically gone, last day was booked for a river tour, so we had ONE day to shoot. while browsing the studio albums, we loved both the river shoot and the mountain shoot. unsure when we’d ever be back, we said ok yolo, let’s do both. problem: both locations need sunrise or sunset for the best light… so we had to split them. plus costume, hair, makeup!!!

we woke up at 1:30AM, got picked up, arrived at the studio at 2AM, and spent ~2 hours getting ready. around 4AM, we headed to the first location (~1h away). we got there around 5AM, still dark AF in a super secluded rural area (no service, kinda spooky). we walked to a river where a tiny motor boat took us deeper in (5–10 min).

the crew set up, started a bonfire (it was chilly), and we shot for ~2 hours with 2 photographers. started at deep blue dawn, wrapped when the sun fully came up.

THEN chaos. we were about to boat back when a river cop showed up and the crew was like nope, can’t use the boat 💀 so we HIKED. IN FULL COSTUME. through the mountains back to the car. maybe ~1 hour? truly felt like we were in a wuxia drama. views were nice though.

we got back to the hotel around 10AM, knocked out for a bit… then we had to be BACK at the studio at 1:30PM for shoot #2. lowkey starting to regret life at this pt, but again, yolo.

round 2: costume, hair, makeup, 1h drive to the mountaintop. we were already exhausted before the cameras started rolling, but once we got there… wooooow. it was literally 千里江山圖 (“Thousand Miles of Mountains and Rivers”) in real life. layers and layers of karst mountains in blue-green tones, absolutely unreal. tons of other people were shooting there too… we saw Ne Zha and Guan Yin cosplayers lmaooo.

i don't post about us that often but i guess i should for this occasion 😂

daniel and i have known each other since 2012 (13 years and counting!!!). we met at a mutual friend's apartment party in nyc. this was during our college years where we both chose schools in the city to save $$ on dorms cuz parents ain't loaded and mega student loans sounded like a bad idea. anyways, our story was not love at first sight. we were dating other people at the time and he also thought i was a rude b*tch cuz i didn't pay attention to him at all. we stayed in touch via fb, but not even in a close friends type of way. acquaintances at best.

fast forward to late 2018, both of us newly single, daniel pinged me one day and said long time no see, let's hang out. and we did 👀

did we expect a spark to ignite? absolutely not, but we did welcome the opportunity with an open mind.

we dated on and off casually for a couple years, i wasn't ready for anything permanent and he was okay with that. then covid era began and this casual situationship snowballed into moving in together in a shoebox apartment less than 400 sq ft total. daniel said smth like "if we can be together 24 hours a day 7 days a week in a shoebox and still not want to kill each other, why keep looking?"

the rest is history.

we moved to vegas and bought a house in 2023, got our rings in 2024, and in 2025, we're officially married!!! we did almost everything in an opposite order and while i don't recommend that path for everybody, it has worked out for us.
