Hi New Friends! 💜

If you’re new to my page welcome 🤗

First of all, thanks so much for following and joining my journey!! I’m so grateful for you! 🙌🏾🎉🥰
.
My name is Anisa pronounced uh - knee - suh and it means faithful friend. I love that meaning. Names are claims. My IG handle is literally my name meaning lol doesn’t mean I’m the perfect friend, no one is!
.
My favorite color is purple because it represents leadership, royalty, and bravery which are things I love sharing about! 🥰. I also love teal and I love how orange looks on my skin lol #melaninpoppin 😍
.
I’m a Christian and a prayer warrior 🙏🏾. My faith is very important to me. I share the hope of Christ which completely changed my life. He can change yours too.

I’m a wife to a very kind and loving husband @peace2irin. Our story is 🤯 I’ll share some of it later. We just had our first baby boy, Boogie in June of 2023 🥹
.
I am a writer and use my gift to encourage others. I published my first best-seller, Please Excuse My Brave, in 2022!! 🎉🙌🏾I have an email list I send out weekly blogotionals (blog + devotional) and have a monthly giveaway. You’re automatically entered when you sign up. Find link in my bio!
.
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. A therapist who has a therapist💯. You’ll see mental health tips pretty often!
.
What you see is pretty much what you get! I’m very open and honest. My authenticity intimidates some and inspires others. I don’t know how to be anyone but myself and I don’t have a fake bone in my body lol but I am working on my pettiness😅🤷🏾‍♀️
.
I revamped my page in 2021, by the leading of the Holy Spirit. The main goal is bringing hope and encouragement to someone who needs it by simply being myself, sharing my faith, journey, writings, and expertise as a therapist. You’ll hear a corny joke every now and then! So be ready!! 🌽
.
Again, WELCOME and I’m so glad to have you. YOU BELONG HERE! Make sure to share and save anything that resonates with you or something you think will help a friend.🥰

If you’re new here or been following for a while please say hi AND share one thing about yourself! 🤗👀 by @anisathefriend

I completed my first race and it was a 10K! A whole 6.20 miles and everybody knows that last .20 counts 😭😂
.
- I didn’t let the weather stop me because it was hot as fish grease 🐠
- I didn’t let my lack of training stop me. Because I only seriously started like 3 weeks ago.
- I didn’t let asthma stop me but I had the inhaler on deck just in case. (Thank God I didn’t need it)
- I didn’t let my weight stop me because this is the most I have weighed in my entire life. When I first started running in college I was literally a hundred pounds lighter.
- I didn’t let the unexpected incredibly steep hill stop me 😭🏔️
.
I am so grateful to God for being able to finish the race 🏁 I literally went because my friend invited me. I was intimidated by the miles because I had not even ran 3 miles yet lol my only goal was to finish. I was going to run as much as I could walk when I needed to and rest if I had to. I did all those things and I still managed to achieve new personal records/bests! That is so bizarre to me.
.
I am so inspired by the long time runners on my page and even those that just started! Just know you played a role in this because it reminded me that not only can I do hard things. I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. I am also thankful for my friends that waited for me at the finish line 🥹 and my supportive husband who has been rooting for me in every season! 🥰
.
I got back to my car after the race and had a note of encouragement on the windshield 🥹 can’t no body tell me that God isn’t real and that He isn’t in everything. (Check 2nd to last pic for what it says.)
.
Let me know in the comments a challenging thing you have done lately. Let’s celebrate together. I say this as a friend. 🏁💜🎉🎉🎉 by @anisathefriend

An idol is anything in your heart you put before God or refuse to let go of. We can all use some reflection in this area. If we are not careful anything and anyone can become an idol. So, check your heart often and repent often. #heartcheck #idol

Have you ever surrendered everything in your life EXCEPT one area or one thing? It can be hard to trust God in areas that you have learned to protect or do yourself. But we were not meant to carry things on our own. It’s time to let it go.

If God looks at our hearts we should often pray for Him to purify it and let us see things and people the way He does.

Sometimes, a trial is not punishment it is a well crafted lesson that we refuse to learn. When things feel hard, confusing, overwhelming… stop and pray. Ask God what His purpose is through this.

The hardest person to forgive is oftentimes yourself. Give yourself the same grace you give others and God gave you.

What have you been focusing on? What you focus 🧘‍♀️ n grows. Sometimes we need to ask God for help and choose our focus.

Casting your cares to God is a daily event. Every time you gather a new worry or care and you realize it. Cast it to God because He cares u#

Hey friends,
.
It is the last day of August (8/31) and we are heading into the last few months of the year! Today is a great day to again be reminded of a scripture in Romans 8:31.
.
“So, what does all this mean? If God has determined to stand with us, tell me, who then could ever stand against us?” Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭31‬ ‭TPT‬‬
.
Some versions also say if God is for us who can be against us? The answer is no one! This should put some pep in your steps heading into September. If you were getting discouraged this reminder can help encourage you.
.
Nothing can stand against you when you are fighting a winning war! Look in the mirror today and see a winner 🏆 I say this as a friend. 🙏🏾💜 #encouragement #anxietytips #romans831 #winningstreak #friendlyreminder by @anisathefriend

Before the night ends don’t forget to remember this! Happy 8.28 day!
.

“And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭28‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Taking all the pictures this summer!! Enjoying my life it is worth living. Enjoying my family, enjoying my freedom. I may not be where I want to be but thank God I am not where or (who) I used to be! If you wait for perfect moments, perfect life, perfect body you will never stop waiting. Take all the pictures and be present in all the moments because you are will never be this version of you again. I say this as a friend. 💜☀️🌊📸 by @anisathefriend

I cannot make this stuff up! God is so faithful. Here is a small snippet of my testimony that people tried to make me feel bad for. I chose my conviction over what seemed like stability and comfort. Make sure you always listen to His voice over every other voice no matter the cost. I say this as a friend. 💜💪🏾 #pleaseexcusemybrave #encouragement #anxietytips #radicalobedience #Godprovides by @anisathefriend

Hey friends,

Here are some short but powerful prayers. 🙏🏾
.
I share these to help someone start off a prayer. Make sure to be led by the Holy Spirit with what comes next.
.
Sometimes, prayer feels easy and flows other times it is difficult. I have been saved a long time and something I have learned is that the best time to pray is when you feel far from God, when you are confused, when it feels hard, when you feel distracted. Those are some of the best and most powerful times to pray.
.
Remember, you can also pray the Word of God it is more powerful than anything. Pray and don’t give up. I say this as a friend. 🙏🏾💜
.
“Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.” James‬ ‭4‬:‭8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Hey friends, going to the doctor is just as much self-care as going to the beach. You need both.
.
Your physical health is just as important as your mental health. Make sure to take care of yourself holistically (mentally, emotionally, spiritually, physically) I say this as a friend. Also your reminder to get your yearly physical, get your pap smear, and go to the dentist. 😬👀

Happy 6th year anniversary to my incredible wife and I. Life with you has been beautiful, but not as beautiful as you. It feels like I really am living in blessings that used to be prayer request. I love you with all of my heart, let's celebrate today!

My phenomenal woman of a wife has always been an incredible writer. I knew going into it she was going to have vows that were going to be stuck in my head. So affirming, so affectionate with words, so authentic and genuine. In reflection of this post, it's such a beautiful thing to have vows that are still upheld years later. Her gift of writing was on full display here. Here's Wesley Val's part 2

6 years ago the greatest blessing of my life happened when my wife and I got married. My absolute favorite part of any wedding is when the bride and groom have ridden out personal vows. So on our sixth year anniversary, I wanted to share the vows that came from a writer and a rapper. Here's Wesley vows part 1
