POSTS STORIES REELS

It is with a full heart, and also a level of sadness, that I am officially retiring from competitive skiing.

Over the past four years, I’ve spent more time injured or recovering from surgeries than on snow. After a significant injury last season, I was determined to come back and give it one final, honest crack at qualifying for the Olympics. Ongoing pain and complications this season made that incredibly challenging, but I’m so proud of myself for trying to come back as quickly as I did!

After a lot of reflection, prayer, and being truthful with myself, I made the difficult decision to step back.

There are so many thank yous to say!

Thank you to @team_ireland_olympic and @snowsports_association_ireland for the belief, generosity, and opportunity to ski under the Irish flag.

Thank you to @snowsportsnz and @thenzteam competing at the 2022 Olympic Games will always be a career highlight and something I will hold close to my heart.

To my sponsors, past and present, thank you for your support.

Thank you to @rtfreeski for your coaching and guidance throughout this journey, and to @alpine.physiotherapy for helping me through countless injuries.

To my family and friends, thank you for standing by me through all the highs and lows. Some of my closest, lifelong friendships came from this sport, and I will always be grateful for that.

And my most importantly to my parents, your sacrifices, hospital calls answered at horrible hours, and endless support never went unnoticed and, I know you’re quietly relieved to see me step back 😂.

This isn’t the end of my skiing journey, just the end of this chapter. What’s next? Powder days, touring missions, storytelling, and a new season of life. I’m excited to see God’s plans unfold.

Thank you all I’m more grateful than words can say. by @anjabarugh

Winter Recap:
This winter was a bit out of the ordinary - no Halfpipe and a PWL in the backcountry. But you know what? I still had a blast, milked every bit of snow we got, and met loads of incredible humans.
I’m super thankful for this place I call home. 💛⛷️

Little camera roll dump from my first few months in Calgary. 🤍

Celebrated my birthday, experienced my first Stampede, moved into my apartment, went to my first CFL game, and squeezed in plenty of hikes!

A little reminder to myself to stop using
”I don’t have anyone to go with,” as an excuse.

Go with the Lord.

Looking back, some of my favourite memories were the ones I did alone. The Lord was with me every step of the way, and those moments ended up being some of the most joyful.

Maybe you’re waiting on someone to say yes.
This is your reminder that you don’t have to. by @anjabarugh

Four days ago I opened my phone and felt my stomach drop.
I saw maps highlighting places I’ve loved my entire life. Places I’ve skied, hiked, camped, photographed, and stood in awe of God’s creation.

Places that could become easier to sell, exchange, or develop under the proposed Conservation Amendment Bill.

As a Christian, I believe creation is something we are called to steward, not exploit.
As a New Zealander, I believe our mountains, forests, rivers, beaches, and wild places are part of who we are.

If passed, Forest & Bird estimates the bill could open up around 60% of New Zealand’s public conservation land roughly 5 million hectares to potential sale or exchange.
And it gets worse.
For the first time in our history, @docgovtnz could be legally required to prioritise economic development “to the greatest extent practicable.”

Think about that.
The very department created to protect these places could be required to put development first.

Governments come and go.
Laws remain and so should Creation

Once this is written into legislation, we’re trusting every future government to use that power responsibly.
I don’t know about you, but I don’t think places like Roys Peak, Cathedral Cove, Tunnel Beach, and countless other conservation areas should ever be treated as assets to be traded away.

Some things are worth more than money.
Some things are worth protecting.

Please don’t stay silent on this one.
Public submissions close on 2 July, and this is one of the most important opportunities we have to use our voice.

Comment ”BILL” and I’ll send you:
📩 A link to make a submission (takes about 6 minutes and is also in my bio)

For His goodness is not defined
by an answered prayer,
an open door,
or a path that feels familiar.

His goodness remains
through uncertainty,
through surrender,
and through every place He calls me to go.

For His goodness was never dependent
on my outcome,
but on His unchanging nature. by @anjabarugh

Yeah I felt this one!

What did @noahkahanmusic put in this album cause I just want to hop in the car for 7hrs and listen to it on repeat! by @anjabarugh

Lately I’ve started posting what I feel like and I’ve had a few messages saying in short stay in your lane, this isn’t why we followed you.

So yeah I’m done feeling like I have to post for anyone else or fit what people expect to see.

I’m here to share what I genuinely enjoy in my life, my struggles, and my faith.

So enjoy or don’t
