NEW DANCER ANNOUNCEMENT 🌟 Please join us in welcoming @anna.hughlett for her first season with New Chamber Ballet! She will make her premiere this weekend at @clarkart.

Arianna “Anna” Hughlett received her early training at Kansas City Ballet School and Kansas School of Classical Ballet. At 17, she joined Boston Ballet School as a Trainee and later completed their Graduate Program. She has performed with Boston Ballet, Aspen Santa Fe Ballet, Grand Rapids Ballet. Anna is also a choreographer who has created works for Boston Ballet II, Grand Rapids Ballet, The Hartt School, Azara Ballet, as well as for her ensemble Flux & Pointe, which she co-founded with artist Kelley Gant in Kansas City. by @anna.hughlett

I’m thrilled beyond belief to share that I’m joining @newchamberballet and will be moving to NYC to dance there this summer.

I'll be performing THIS SATURDAY from 4:00-4:30! @jaedenmaejohnson , @wannabekelley , @henryscamurra and I have been cooking up some new @fluxandpointe material that I'm excited to share. QUARTET (2022) 🎻🎻🎻🎻

I’ve been thinking about this piece a lot lately. I started making Quartet when I was 17, and I choreographed it for my friends in school. I had no sense of who was watching me then or what being a working choreographer might look like.

The piece went on this kind of epic multi-year journey spanning my whole time in Boston, eventually premiering at the Opera House in 2022. It’s been restaged on multiple casts of unique and beautiful dancers since then, and I like it more every time. Needless to say, it holds a very special place in my heart.

Quartet, in many ways, is my weird origin story. To me, Quartet is about pure, joyful dance and the effort to make your friends laugh. Hope you might enjoy some of that today. by @anna.hughlett
