Marathon number 3 in the GC and a chonky 40 minute PB 👅

I set out with the goal of 3:25 and I’m so stoked to have come away with a time of 3:15:59, which qualifies me for the Boston and Chicago marathons 💃

6 months of training, 6 races in the lead up and PBs in the 5km, 10km, 15km, 21.1km and now 42.2km distances in the last 2 months. The road to the mara has been complete with injury, fatigue, too many starts before sunrise and running away from all my problems, but there’s nothing quite like the chase and I’ve loved every moment.

Special shout outs to @nobodyrunclub for the weekly sesh and support, @melbourneuniathleticsclub for the competitive spirit, @redhotttillypeppers for being the best training partner and @locky.tinhla for dealing with months of my maranoia 🥰

3:12:13 - a new PB at @chimarathon but by no means an ideal race 🙃

I set off with big goalz which I was on track for, but things unravelled at the 30k mark (where the marathon truly begins) 🤮🥵🫠🥴😵‍💫

Despite the heat and a misbehaving stomach (including a cheeky vom) I’m super blessed to have qualified for and completed my very first @wmmajors and international marathon. And I cracked into the top 10% overall 🥲

The encouragement of the Chicago crowds was out of this world and the energy was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. Melbourne - take notes!

As always I couldn’t have done this without the support of the fiercest squad out @melbourneuniathleticsclub 💙🤍 my amazing run club fam @nobodyrunclub 🩷the LOML who I’ve now turned into a runner @locky.tinhla ❤️‍🔥 and everyone else who has believed in my lil running dreams!!!

3 weeks until I back this up with the 10km leg of the @noosatriathlon with my fire teammates @annielouey @mnkn__ I love this brutal ass sport! taken in Chicago, Illinois by @anna.louey

Introducing the ultimate @noosatriathlon trio 🏊🚴‍♀️🏃‍♀️ Anna, Annie and Monica!

We’ve signed up as a relay team to participate in the Noosa Tri on 1 November, raising funds for @thekidsfoundation.

All funds raised will go towards programs helping children and families affected by burns, trauma and rare genetic conditions.

Our goal is to raise $3000 and have some fun along the way. Link in bio to donate.

In case you’re wondering - we couldn’t decide on a team name but Monica did suggest “Fast, Wet and Windy” to represent our respective sports.

Annie replied saying that sounds like the description of a bad fart. However, we came to an agreement to abbreviate it to “FWW” instead.

So here we are. Meet the members of the team FWW 💨💨💨💩
