@milanomarathon

Pretty much a year of focus, a couple of bits of bad luck and waiting for a race to show the work I’d put in. God I love running

TBC 12th female, 1st European lady hehe (when I get my result fixed woopsie) 🥰

I think there’s more in there at some point… but the more that life goes on the more I’m appreciating the moments like this and the achievements for what they are instead of rushing to the next one. And I am STOKED.
Saying that, we’ve got an exciting year ahead 🤞🏼🥳

A daily mosaic of life, chaos and happiness. And friends/colleagues who tolerate me eternally being late

Ultra X South Africa, 🥇a debrief. Late to the party after spending the last week offgrid exploring Namibia and soaking in the best end to a season of pretty varied racing 🤍

320km split into 50 / 60 / 50 / 80 / 50 / 30 km stages with fairly unknown terrain and routes, except from the knowledge a rugged South African who seemingly never wears any shoes had planned it @vuurtoring. Which told us everything we should expect really

Vineyard sandy paths, scrambling up boulders, a couple of river crossings, a mountain, old paths which the bush had reclaimed and gave us an idea of what Barkley marathons might be like, some of the most spectacular geology (at least according to @charliemason), freezing cold nights and mornings and hot windy days. Plus a close call with a cape cobra that I nearly stood on, which the crew found a lot more funny and exciting than I did 🫠

Checkpoints every 10km with a team of the best hype crew, physios, medics and hugs when you needed it.

And about 55 people crazy enough to give this race a go in its inaugural year and survive off super noodles, campfires and KTape, and call it a fun holiday. I think it’s hard to describe just how epic the little community you form over just 6 days of racing and suffering together is. But if you’re curious to know, do it.

Thank you @ultraxco you really are the best in the business.
Thank you @monkeysox_org for keeping my feet blister free (genuinely!) and looking 10/10 🧦 and @precisionfandh for fueling me every step - I think this is one of the reasons we managed to bounce back so well every day

And thank you to the boss @willclarketri and @riotracingclub for taking on the chaos and getting me in shape for this, despite never signing up to be an ultra coach and me asking if we could try to get me a sub 2.40 mara, back to being competitive at triathlons, and a shot at winning this race all in one season 😅. What a year it’s been

Racing through boulders in leopard country and repping @riotracingclub through the clag

The long 80km day, the top ten set off one to two hours after the rest of the field to give the checkpoints enough time to support us all. So we spent the day catching up with pals a by @anna0lawson

Ultra X South Africa 🥇🥹

Six day ultra marathon stage race of 320km camping and running across the mountains and valleys of Cederberg with a hoard of ~55 incredible humans. First woman and second overall and got to take the tape with my bestie @charliemason 🤍

More to come when I’ve had some food and sleep but thank you @ultraxco, that was so so special by @anna0lawson

Alrighty since finishing Ironman Leeds it’s been a quick pivot to try and get kind of, sort of, can you really ever be, prepared for the next and final adventure of the season 👀 @ultraxafrica @ultraxco

6 days and ~320km of running and camping in South Africa ⛺️⛰️🍇 we fly out Friday, we start running Monday. Which means the last couple months have been a lot more running slowly for a long time, hiking up hills and trying to run fast downhill without having quad DOMS for three days 😅. Say a little prayer for me on Monday morning x

I love racing fast but I also love doing things which scare me in incredible places and with crazy people. So I think this will tick some boxes.
And if it’s anything like UltraX Jordan a few years ago (swipe for pics) it’s going to be one of the most epic things I get to experience, with the best humans 🤍 lezgoooooo by @anna0lawson

Note to self, if you want beautiful calves like @anna0lawson do more trail running 🦵

Lovely 10km exploring some questionable paths in the Lake District!

We moved to the Lake District with our besties for ‘summer’ as a sabbatical from London and I think my heart bursts with happiness every time I wake up and look out the window 🥹 best decision ever, best playground in the world. Weeknight tarn swims, weekend adventures and my quads have only just got over all the descending and I love it so much

If you haven’t visited yet pls come visit xxx

Ps we do commute to London every week so it’s a very tough life I swear 👀 by @anna0lawson

My bestie is strong, brave, ambitious and un petit peu ridiculous 🔥💗

@ellencheets chasing you around UTMB for the weekend was the privilege of my life and I can’t wait to do it again and again and again. Find friends who inspire you and are also your biggest cheerleaders and push you to be a better person and will always be silly with you.

I’m a bit too wrecked for many more words right now but I’m immensely proud of that run on a pretty tough course. I’m very lucky I get to live this chaotic and fulfilling life 🥰 with the best best cheer crew

Thanks @precisionfandh for supporting me again this year. You and your gels are honestly the best, even at km 38 of a marathon 😅

🔑 K E Y R U N S E S S I O N 🔑

This morning Head Coach @willclarketri joined one of our newer athletes @anna0lawson for one of her key run sessions leading into @ironman_uk Leeds in a few weeks time. Over 30km of running with 5/4/3/2/1km at Tempo with the added stress of hot weather even up here in The Lakes.

Anna was the first European woman across the line at Milan Marathon in 2hr39 earlier in the year. She also WON Outlaw Holkham overall last weekend and we can’t wait to see what she can do at Ironman Leeds.

Anna’s summer relocation to The Lakes is going very well indeed 😏 ⛰️ ☀️ 💦 🏊‍♀️ 🚵🏼‍♀️ 🏃‍♀️
