Just two people floating around the Mediterranean, soaking up the good light…and casually FaceTiming his mom from the middle of the sea because she needed to see the view too.

These are exactly the kind of photos I hate cropping for IG. My professional camera shoots in a different aspect ratio than IG’s 3:4 phone format, so I’ve been using @AdobeExpress to build my carousels on a white 3:4 canvas instead. Portraits stay portraits, landscapes stay landscapes, and nobody gets decapitated by Instagram’s carousel crop tool (I still don’t have access to IG’s mixed-aspect-ratio carousel feature so this is my go-to solution).

Seven years of living in this house and we’ve finally reached the bedroom portion of the renovation. Extremely fast work over here.

This reel is a little peek into how I’m finally attempting to turn the 4 million ideas in my head (and 400 million screenshots on my phone) into an actual room, with a little help from @adobefirefly Boards.

Because apparently “I’ll know it when I see it” is not, in fact, a design plan 😂

Also: designing a room with someone whose taste is minimalist architect vs. maximalist photographer is going exactly as you’d expect. One of us is designing a bedroom. The other is curating a small museum.

37 years old today and I’m just so excited to live more life.

I love my friends and my family, and an ice cream cone that’s melting so fast you have to lick with a sense of urgency and ask questions later, the feeling when you turn your chair to face the sun, and the sensation of floating. I’m so happy to be here🧡 taken in Sicilia, Italy by @annaalexia

Today marks 2 years since one of the best weekends of my life. It sounds cliche to say that about your wedding, but the feeling of being surrounded by your closest friends and family all in a place you deeply love (lol…and which is impossible to get to) is indescribable.

Matt, I love you so much and am grateful for all the ways our relationship continues to adventure and bloom. It’s fun to be surprised along the way and I promise to keep up with your 3 granita/day habit every time we’re in Sicily.

Scenes from Salina, the second-largest and greenest of the Aeolian Islands off the coast of Sicily. Home to extinct volcanoes 🌋 ,incredible capers, floating card games♠️♦️, and apparently enough beauty to single-handedly destroy my camera roll and leave me with a storage problem.

I make so. many. photos. on these adventures, only to come home with a hard drive full of images that either never get posted or make their debut two years later (Berlin *cough*). Cute for the memories, less ideal when photography is literally my job😅

I’m trying to get better about sharing the work I’m making without having to be on my phone while I’m out living the thing I’m photographing.

My solution: batch scheduling posts. I’m doing it in @adobeexpress because not only is scheduling a post easier than navigating a tiny Italian island with questionable Wi-Fi, but I can view my whole month from a bird’s-eye view, see the cadence of what I’m sharing, and fill in any gaps before they become accidental three-week vacations from the internet.

As much as I hear “put the camera down and live in the moment,” I actually remember a moment in more detail (and for longer!!!) when I have an image to accompany it. So in the spirit of making images, making memories, and actually sharing them before they qualify as historical documents…I’m trying to stay consistent. Wish me luck, and please know that that was absolutely not @doesthismakemelookmatt ‘s real hand♥️♠️♦️♣️ guess who won both floating card games😏

My favorite part about being an artist is never really being done learning. Unfortunately I’m no longer in school, my office changes countries regularly, and my version of a structured schedule is mostly “what time is golden hour?” ☀️✨

So this fall I’m taking the back-to-school reset literally-ish: learning new skills + sharpening the ones I already and pretending a baguette in a field counts as professional development🍅🥖🧀

Adobe Digital Academy makes that part pretty easy…even if you’re in a tiny home in the French countryside. You can start with a single course or work toward a Professional Certificate, with practical, job-relevant skills in design, marketing, and AI, all at your own pace. No experience required, which is helpful because I personally have no interest in going back to being graded.

It’s available through Coursera, LinkedIn Learning, and YouTube, with access to @adobe tools so you can actually put what you’re learning into practice.

After 14 years of constantly evolving my photography practice, I’ve learned that the work is never really finished. There’s always another technique to learn. Another way to push an image. Another excuse to make my colors slightly more dramatic than they were in real life💁🏼‍♀️

Here are a few images from the French countryside, featuring some favorite humans, questionable amounts of cheese, and a few Adobe Digital Academy courses I’m excited to dive into myself…there’s always more to glean about image editing and color theory!

Consider this my back-to-school era. I’ll be in the countryside making tomato sandwiches about it.

If loving Paris makes me basic, then unfortunately I have no intention of developing a personality beyond baguette, brie, and dramatically crossing the street.

A few highlights from this first photo dump include: couch dancing at Silencio (designed by David Lynch), the Louvre to ourselves (read: it was raining), €10 mango breakfasts (wthhh), strangers’ legs and chairs that demanded to be photographed, midnight bathroom selfies, couples kissing on the Seine, a film photo booth bc obviously, and Matt heroically carrying our luggage down approximately 4,000 flights of stairs withhh a torn mcl.

Add the bookstore, because nothing says “I live here” quite like pretending to casually browse French literature while on vacation.

Paris, you’re expensive, mildly hostile to luggage, offensively beautiful, and unfortunately…still my type.

There are two versions of me. One flies halfway across the world to make art. The other wonders if the photo is emotionally prepared for its transition into a Facebook banner.

✨ #ad, because apparently even my existential crisis has a collaborator ;)

This carousel is mostly a love letter to Greece: the magic and movement of water, the shapes, the light, the very dramatic main-character energy of a good rock formation.

But behind the scenes a few of these images got a tiny @AdobeExpress makeover...

• One vertical image became FIVE different formats in a few clicks (photo book, Facebook cover, postcard, podcast cover... because apparently one photo deserves multiple careers)

• One portrait was quickly transformed into a landscape social post with animated text

• And one Sarakiniko shot had a little population adjustment, with Remove Objects politely evicting a crowd of tourists from the rocks

My toxic trait is spending an hour finding the perfect composition and then realizing I need six different aspect ratios🫣

Thankfully, @adobeexpress makes that part painless. A few clicks later, the important parts stay in frame instead of getting sacrificed to the algorithm gods.

Happy birthday to @doesthismakemelookmatt 🏄🏻‍♂️!!! A man who somehow spends 97% of the year in water, is the #2 shedder in this household (Zulu remains undefeated 🐈), is convinced getting zooted “has something to do with zuit suits,” is annoyingly good at every sport he accidentally tries, is an expert fruit fly assassin while also capable of turning sticks into thriving gardens, who once dressed up as a 🥕 and won the “Trickery & Dickery” award at a surf contest at OB after someone tried to knock him off his board, only to fall off themselves while he casually stole their board and rode that one in🖕😂 (slide 10), and is personally responsible for making me voluntarily watch basketball without asking who’s winning every five minutes🏀

You make every day funnier than the last. I don’t know how I got so lucky to move through life alongside someone who’s equal parts human Labrador, surf instructor, comedian, masseuse, travel seeker, gardener extraordinaire, and snack supplier (don’t worry, I’ll leave you some of the ketchup chips… maybe).

From our very first party wave together (slide 13!) to chasing adventures around the world, there’s no one I’d rather laugh my way through life with💛

The textures of summer 🫧☀️🪞🐚💦Snapshots from my favorite ways to disappear for a little while.

For me it’s the way sunlight dances underwater. Shifting reflections. Impossible shades of blue. That feeling of floating somewhere between reality and a dream☁️

✈️On my way home from an adventure, I love making quick edits right from my phone with @adobeexpress . A little contrast, brightness, and shadow work brings back the depth I felt underwater, while saturation and color balance help recreate the warmth, movement, and dreamlike colors exactly as I remember them.
.
The Photoshop-powered image filters are another favorite. I‘ll experiment with different looks and easily adjust the intensity until everything feels just right.
