Who is listening, and who is heard? Long before we wore devices in our ears, we held shells there to listen for the sea. Echo Collar Necklace brings the two together: vintage freshwater pearls and sterling spheres gathered around a cast technological form, with a melongena shell falling below on a removable pearl drop, like a sound still carrying from the water. Echo belongs to Future Fossil, a collection that asks what will remain of our digital age. Our devices begin in the earth, as copper in their circuits and minerals in their batteries. Here they return to it in bronze and sterling silver, paired with pearl and shell. The obsolete made precious: an intimate artifact of the world we are making now. The dinner before the dance floor. ✨ For the @momsfeelinthemselves founders dinner at @dalidasf , I styled Sarah, Elizabeth and Kate with a mix of rented, retail and reworked secondhand pieces. Sarah and Elizabeth’s looks started with @nuuly rentals; Kate’s red look came from Zara. Jewelry from @goldstories and hand-painted bags and shoes by @devheyrana brought the looks together. I loved seeing everything off the mood boards and out in the room, on women talking, laughing and feeling like themselves. Hosted by MFT and its founders, Sarah and Elizabeth. I’ve been thinking about transition through jewelry lately. The first Trace Collar (pictured) came out partially of an interest in modularity: the idea that a piece doesn’t have to stay fixed. It can shift, come apart, be rearranged, and take on a different form. I see something similar happening in nature. Summer slowly gives way to fall. A season of expansion begins to make room for something deeper, more inward-facing. Watching these cycles is a reminder that everything is in constant flux. Growth, decay, rest, renewal. None of it exists separately. Each stage becomes part of the next. Maybe that’s why I’m drawn to jewelry that can change with us. A familiar piece worn differently, layered with another texture or material, can feel new without actually becoming something else.
