Hold My Breath - Drew’s Senior Solo

Choreography: Drew and I!

From Drew: I wish I could put into words what this studio and people have done for me and my journey, but what I can say is yall have changed me for the better and made me the person I am today. Thank you.

From Anna: So proud of this piece that Drew and I created together and so beyond proud of Drew and his passion and performance he showed in this solo. It was so special to work together on this. 🫶 by @annachoreo

All These Things That I’ve Done

Originally, this piece was all about the struggle of giving your best over and over again and still not being chosen. This line: “I’ve got soul, but I’m not a soldier” represents that for me. It also explores the feeling of burn out after trying for so long and it still not being enough.

However, after being diagnosed with cancer, this dance took on a whole new meaning for me. Getting to perform this dance despite going through cancer treatment is one of my proudest moments and shows exactly what I’ve been feeling through my entire journey- cancer HAS NOT, IS NOT, and WILL NEVER define who I am or limit me from what I want to do. So now this dance represents my fight and my refusal to give in, no matter how hard it gets.

Special thank you to my dancers who worked with me to learn on their own time to get the piece finished with my health. You guys are awesome.

It was an honor to choreograph for Orchesis this semester, and I can’t wait to do it again. ♡

Dancers: Sophie Andorf, Kayla DenOtter, Celia Sinnott, Madi Vogel, and Myself :)
