𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐧𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐦𝐩 🪸

The second lamp made in collaboration between @annadutoit__ and @publicmeltdown__ for their debut series imagining new ways to synthesise the tactile practices of both Anna and Xin, connected by a desire to bring fantasy and storytelling into the everyday space.

Anna takes her ceramics practice to reimagine life beneath the bulb, while Xin completes the glowing crown with a shade fashioned into a hat.

Made using glazed ceramic + hand-painted and stitched fabric

Just completed my first two-session lamp making workshop yesterday and the lamps turned out so crazy unique and beautiful….. love that theyre so different from one another and kudos to my lovely participants for challenging themselves on their first build, not easy shapes at all 😦🥳

Hope to host more in the future 🎩

Thank you to everyone who came through for the opening of “Prior Conditions”!

Anna Du Toit (@annadutoit__) works across drawing, painting, and sculpture, weaving magical realism with an animist sensibility. Latent questions of belonging and displacement run beneath it all, extending into ceramic and sculptural forms that push against what these materials are meant to do.
