big stage moment 🎤 thank you lovely team of @cxi_konferenz 2026 and @robert_paulmann for inviting us to present our concept and case around the @kwinstitutefcontemporaryart relaunch in 2025. We discussed how to develop a visual identity for a cultural institution constantly in flux while staying connected to its history. news looks are dropping soon at KW 🫨 “Everything starts with a sketch.” – Emma Enderby Since October 2024, the design studio Correspondence has been developing a new visual identity for and with KW redefining our presence while remaining rooted in our history. The redesign spans logo adaptations, stationery, signage, exhibition campaigns, and extends to KW’s new website and digital archive, developed in collaboration with Systemantics – coming online soon. Built on two layers, the visual identity opens space for sketches, notes, and interventions drawn from KW’s archive, its community, and invited artists while staying clear in its messaging. Stay tuned as more will be revealed soon! A central element of the visual identity is KW Grotesk, a bespoke typeface. Following the research and visual concept by Correspondence, it was developed in collaboration with Berlin-based studio Dinamo. Inspired by early sans-serifs linked to Ferdinand Theinhardt’s nearby type foundry, KW Grotesk embraces the irregularities of early type production. Dynamic, participatory, and practice-oriented, the new identity ensures clarity of voice while remaining open to all. happy 25th birthday @coberlin. for almost 6 years i was part of a fantastic team. we worked passionate & powerful on so many amazing projects together! i met inspiring people and made true friends until today. this is where I grew into berlins cultural scene and learned so much for what I still do today!
