l’automne 🍂

at first I was a little worried about what life in Chamonix would be like during the off-season. but turns out it might actually be one of the best times of the year.

quiet days, fewer tourists, good conditions for flying /sport climbing and plenty of opportunities to climb lower down in the valley.

really enjoyed exploring different takeoffs and landings, climbing new lines and combining climbing and flying whenever possible.

with the latest snowfall though, I think it’s time to chase the sun and spend a little more time on the rock. not quite ready to swap climbing shoes for skis yet 🤣 by @annaholzer

Had some really good days back home. 🏠
Didn’t realize how much I missed my family, friends and all the familiar places
and especially the loneliness in the mountains at home! haha

Août à Chamonix 🥖

Because all that glitters is not gold ✨💁🏼‍♀️

Probably the most crowded month ever 🤣 but with the right people, you can enjoy almost anything!

But finally, the off-season has started, and the best conditions for flying and climbing are here. 🥳 by @annaholzer

What a straight, steep line by H. Buhl 👌🏼

After climbing granite all summer long, I almost forgot how steep, easy pitches can be in the Dolomites 😂

Pretty cool day to share the rope with @mathiasobmascher and @lukas_wimmer & @davidunteregger climbing in front of us! 🥳
Good to have friends who have the same idea of what makes a good day! 🤝🏼 by @annaholzer

Petit Jorasses - Bonatti Mazeaud

What a line in this lonely, wild scenery. wouldn’t be there a much coveted bivouac packed with influencers and hikers. 😵‍💫

But the second you leave the bivouac, you’re back in absolute loneliness . From there, it’s just the wild approach across the glacier. 🥲

after a long day out, back to the valley for pizza and beer 🍻🍕 by @annaholzer

Trying to get a little getaway from the Chamonix madness right now 🙉

Everything is getting concentrated on just a few walls because climate change is showing its sad side. Bergschrunds are becoming impossible to cross, the glaciers are getting wilder, and everything around us seems to be crumbling.

But with a bit of flexibility, you can still find some beautiful lines.

On day three, we were once again close to changing plans because the bergschrund was just too big. Luckily, on another topo, we spotted an old ramp entry that allowed us to join “California Dream” in the second pitch. 🥳

Good days out. Merci la vie 🫶

lot‘s of unstable weather days, made planning a bit harder. Luckily, Chamonix’s accessibility makes it much easier to adapt than in most other locations.
Captured some good days out! 📸
merciiii 🥰
