Pure buzzing to have been shortlisted for IWSC @theiwsc award for Emerging Talent in Spirits Communication 🥃🎉

It's a total pleasure to be included on a such a splendid list with some splendid pals! Huge thanks the judges and to whoever nominated me in the first place - even the application process was a brilliant way of crystalising for me what I'd already achieved and clarifying where I want to go...🥃

I can't wait to keep bringing whisky to folk in a way that is fun, inclusive, and shows that a bit of learning can make that fun even more precious. ❤️🥃

Enjoy the quieter moments...✨️🥃

A big old dose of something filthy took hold of me and my sinuses this week which forced me to slow down a bit....

Wildly frustrating but it did make me wonder why we only give ourselves time to rest when our bodies scream that we need it.

Take a breath. Take a moment. Take a slow sip. Take yourself out of the game for as long as you can handle. I DARE YOU!

Let's hear it for the blends! 🥃 @wovenwhisky

People can get snitty about blended whisky (where the whisky is blended across several distilleries) but the truth is, the process of blending is everywhere the good things are.🥃

Food, people, even single malts....😉🥃

Perceptions of prestige go up and down and back and forth and this can often rest on jammy PR campaigns, bad apples, trends...🥃

What could be better than creating something greater than the sum of its parts? 🥃

Utter joy to join Mezcal expert and pal Heidi @agave_alegria for the first ever Mezcal Academy yesterday, learning all about agave spirits 🪴

(If you have a better agave emoji, let me know!)

I've always wanted to more about spirits made from this glorious succulent and it was a pleasure to do so in a supportive group with a passionate and thoughtful teacher 🪴

Loved hearing about the plant itself - 200 species of it grow in Mexico though only 40 can be used for spirit production. And it takes it tiiiiime to grow up. Sure, the best ones always do ... 🪴

Surprising to see quite how wonderfully rustic some of the production techniques are too though my big takeaway was just how much these spirits evolve in the glass. Utterly beautiful witchcraft! 🪴

Great to see how much info you can find on a Mezcal bottle too, a nice tip....

What a night at the @scotfooddrink Excellence Awards celebrating a very deserved win with the @wovenwhisky crew! @nick_ravenhall @hazeydrams and Jim 🥃

The scrummy Woven WXC coffee infused whisky is Distilling Product of the Year (dark sprits) and we are well chuffed! 🥃

Testament to the team's welcome that I burst in as a part timer newstart and genuinely didn't feel weird at all about it. LOVE 🥃

That's to all the folks at Scotlands Food and Drink, the @crowneplazaglasgow and @matt.tebbutt for keeping it all together beautifully. 🥃

WHY I LOVE... GETTING IT WRONG (in under 30 secs) 😃🍷

One for my blind tasters and exam candidate pals...😃🍷

Try to fight your quizzer's instinct and really focus on what is inside the glass, no prejudice, no guessing! 😃🍷

By letting your senses work and being chill about "getting it wrong", you will enjoy the experience more and will ultimately get better at "getting it right" If that really IS important to you 😉🍷😃

I love this bittersweet treat and I'm not ashamed to admit that I DO like it on the sweeter side now and then (not reeeeaally sweet as I say here 😉😅)

Love the warm, sweet citrus kick from extra orange too. A fun match with my #gifted @isleofbarradistillers gin. YUM 👌🌊🍊
