The one hotel metric you can’t fake.

“It’s not fake. It’s real.” Pan Pacific Hotels CEO Peng Sum Choe on the morale at Pan Pacific London, where the team is intact, the occupancy is high and everyone’s smiling.

That culture didn’t happen by accident. Five women opened the hotel mid-pandemic, opposite Liverpool Street (not Mayfair), and earned Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star within months. Since then, turnover has dropped from 46% to 30% and the hotel has won Best Employer at the Cateys.

Anne Golden (Regional Vice President, Operations, UK & North America, and General Manager of Pan Pacific London) and her leadership team share what building it taught them about confidence, belonging and knowing when to push.
