Annika Thiems’s avant-garde outfits are rooted in childhood memories of her family’s furniture business and her work as a psychology assistant. Annika’s (@annikathiems) lavender-laden hoods and beeswax shirts typify a textile artist mining her own odd seam.

Pictured above is the studio installation from June. A map of psychic artefacts and structures, dug up from the unconscious. Objects act as bait for the invisible and untamed — barely caught — like light behind waxed cloth. The paradox opens onto a whole new wing. by @annikathiems

My Open Studio last weekend was an experiment on thresholds, reaching, luminosity and – in the words of Colette – translucent witnesses.
