As we prepare to launch our booking platform (STAY TUNED ✨), we are very excited to introduce the woman who has helped build Annora Suites into the beautiful space it has become, and will be taking care of our guests.

Meet Margaret Smart, Operations Manager at Annora Suites!

With an Honours degree in Political Science from Western University and a Master of Divinity from McMaster University, Margaret brings more than 30 years of leadership experience in the human services and non-profit sectors. Her work has included roles as a counsellor, advocate, program developer and manager, pastor, and executive director. She has both taken and taught courses in conflict resolution and continued professional development in trauma-informed care.

Margaret is passionate about building strong, compassionate communities and supporting people through change and challenge. However, having spent much of her life in very serious work, Margaret has also learned to take downtime seriously. She is a firm believer that life is better with a good story, a good laugh, and the occasional kitchen dance party with her 3 daughters ❤️

We are very grateful to have Margaret leading our team at Annora Suites. She brings not only an incredible amount of skill and organization, but a lot of heart & care which we know will be felt by our guests.

Thank you for all you do Margaret, and we can’t wait to open our doors at Annora with you 🍾🥂 by @annorasuites

I am feeling so much gratitude today.

It was nearly one year ago, on October 15th 2025, that Justin and I purchased 38 Albert Street, Stratford. Within that year, we have renovated it into both a beautiful home for my firm @kdblaw, and our new AirBNB @annorasuites. ❤️

To say this past year was busy and overwhelming at times would be an understatement, but along with the help of our incredible support system and many people who have believed in us, WE DID IT! 🥂 And the best part is, this building has started to become more than just a space for work. It is becoming a gathering space for our community. It has already hosted its first baby shower, spontaneous end of day drinks with family & friends stopping in to join, and Anna will be having her 13th birthday party here next weekend. The life we are building at 38 Albert feels like something special, and wasn’t something I anticipated. It is a gift ✨

A special thank you to both @ladonnaboersma for overseeing the KDB Law move and @margaretjoysmart for being our right hand at Annora Suites. We could not have done it without you 🙏

Happy happy Thanksgiving!

As the final pieces start to come together, we are seeing our vision come to life: warmth, comfort & a bit of beauty in downtown Stratford ✨❤️ by @annorasuites

Our latest project is coming together! Justin & I spent the morning at @annorasuites hanging art, placing furniture & getting excited about this beautiful space ❤️✨

It feels good here, and we can’t wait to share it with guests soon! by @annorasuites

We’ve named the suites at our new AirBNB after 4 of our greatest loves ❤️ Anna, Nora, my Mom & my Grandma Skinner ❤️

It’s nearly time to open our doors 🍾

August has been such a busy month at Annora Suites! The kitchenettes start being installed next week, and it feels like in no time we will be able to share photos of our completed rooms 🥰

This week we were excited to set up our own little refillery and support another local female entrepreneur!

Angela MacPherson, owner of @purpourstmarys, came to deliver the soaps, shampoo & conditioner that will be offered for use by guests staying in our suites.

@purpourstmarys sells environmentally safe products and aims to reduce single-use plastic 🌿 We are very excited to feature their products! by @annorasuites

When you have a Manager of Operations who makes something beautiful like this, from a room that looked like that ❤️ ✨

@margaretjoysmart, Justin & I are lucky to have you 🥰

Planning for the opening of Annora Suites is in full swing!

We have much building, cleaning & furnishing to do! But in the midst of it all, owner @katiedeblock is taking a bit of time to enjoy & appreciate this beautiful space ❤️

Annora Suites is soon to open in the heart of downtown Stratford, Ontario!

Located at 38 Albert St., we are working hard to finish our 3 gorgeous, spacious suites to welcome our first guests summer 2026!

Here’s a little before and after shot of one of our favourite rooms, complete with gas fireplace, whirlpool bathtub and an amazing view over downtown. We have been fixing these rooms up with a lot of love and intention, knowing how meaningful it is to find an amazing place to stay when you take the time to get away ❤️

We can’t wait to share more as we move ahead 💫✨
