I’ve been in a slight reading slump after a few back to back (to back) under 3 star reads … so here’s a throwback to my last stand out series!

I really enjoyed Dire Bound when I originally read it last year. I was so excited to see how the story progressed in Fury Bound, especially with Meryn growing into her birthright as heir. I enjoyed the progression of Meryn & Stark’s relationship, but I do feel like we lost a little bit of the angst that was there in the first book. This one felt a lot more lust and almost duty driven. There was some other plot points with their alliance & some of the side characters (like Noemi) & their plan with Killian, that felt a biiiiit underdeveloped. But I am absolutely going to be reading book 3 to see what happens next because I have 100 questions. And as expected my fav part remains the direwolves - I looove Anassa’s sass. It’s like if Tairn was a wolf lol.

Have you read this series yet?

Open my April @probablysmut Box with me ❤️🗡️

I looooveeee the artwork on the Shield of Sparrows & Rites of the Starling … they look so good displayed on my shelf!

Also if you haven’t read these yet, might I recommend that you move them up on your TBR 🙂‍↕️

A new local bookshop opened up today 🖤🐦‍⬛

I grabbed one of their blind date with a book options. (I do already have this one but this gives me the opportunity to share with a friend and buddy read!)

If you’re ever in Waco, check out The Raven’s Nook! They have multiple themed rooms, including a study room, and a wide selection of books to choose from!

The most recent cause of my reading slump …

I loooooved SoS - top 5 books from 2025, hands down. RotS has been one of my most anticipated books for the year and it absolutely did not disappoint!

Odessa continues to be one of my favorite fmc’s ever. I love how she grows in RotS. She’s fierce and brave, but she’s also so caring and ultimately so human. And ofc Ransom, likeee…. what a man…the way he loves Odessa (and Evie) is so well written. All that to be said, I was obsesssssssed with Caspia and Andreas’ romance. They are the blueprint 🙂‍↕️

It’s been a while since I’ve read a book that made me cry (compliment). I loved the two pov’s. I think it was the perfect way to further the world building and storyline. But the ending, omg I thought SoS had a rough cliffhanger 👀😭 cannot wait to get my hands on book 3

Whoops I disappeared from booksta again 🥲 but new year new me, right? I’m trying to get back into bookstagram and into posting more. I just feel like every time I try to dive back into the booksta space, something crazy and negative is going on and it’s so hard to keep up. But (hopefully) I’m back 🤪

But anyways, here’s a quick January recap so far 🫶🫶 I’ve read 3 books so far, but honorable mention to VOTG because it deserves every shoutout. I had a great time at an event hosted by my local bookstore and got to meet some amazing authors!! And I’ve, ofc, kept buying books bc what’s a book buying ban. taken in BOOKSTA by @another.page.turned
