This exhibition serves as a reminder that even if something feels “off” or you’re unsure of your place, trust that you are exactly where you need to be—right now. Until the time comes for you to open your eyes, transition, and reconnect with the ground beneath you, remember this: the answers will come when you’re ready to receive them.

Within this living, breathing exhibition, space becomes a unifying medium—a repository for layered expressions of intimacy, connection, and community. Fran’s tactile tapestries, vibrant paintings, layered collages, immersive soundscapes, and intimate short film transforms the salon into a dynamic landscape, inviting viewers to reimagine space as a vessel for growth and belonging.

Emerging from a collaborative curatorial process, the exhibition transcends the visual, blending soft textures, ambient sounds, and sensory warmth to create an experience that feels both deeply personal and shared. Floating figures symbolize freedom, circular motifs evoke interdependence, and every element weaves a narrative of healing and community.

This is more than an exhibition—it is an invitation to connect, reflect, and be held by the threads of art and intimacy woven into every intentionally curated space. Adwoa, an artwork in herself, guides you through layered expressions that unfold from self-recognition at the entryway to spaces of collective belonging and enigmatic investigations of self and community—culminating in a profound sense of acceptance and connection.

“Okapis in moonlight” an intimate evening at Arc House ✨

During my residency with Emmaus @e_kimani , I’ve come to experience Arc House as so much more than a space. It’s a place for vulnerability, communal gathering, artistic practice and deep exchange, or as Kelly would say, “a mental hospital.”

Just as in my practice, this space functions as a portal. A portal into conversations, memories, ways of seeing, and into the lives of the people who have passed through it.

I’ve been drawing, painting, photographing and filming the space and its people throughout my time here, trying to hold onto some of what happens within it, while also adding to Emmaus’s ongoing archival practice.

Then Emmaus surprised me by printing some of my photographs and curating a whole experience of exchange around them. It felt so intimate to let these images move back into the space, and into the hands of the people who have also become part of its story.

To see the photographs I made here being held, looked at, exchanged, talked about, somehow felt like the portal opening again.

My heart is so full. Still finding words…🫀

Self-trust, consistency, intentionality, deep practice and rebirth are the key words for the first half’ish’ year for me.

To fully show up for myself and to plant and nurture the seeds in the right places. To fully carry myself, to work hard, to heal and rest to be able to go all out… ✨ I’m grateful. For the depth of experience of all kinds, the grounding and growth.

Staying fully present where I am with some excitement for what’s to come… building, one step at a time, at my own pace. Tapping into a new chapter 👣🌿✨🔑🐦‍🔥🦦
