Unread Goodbye "Unread Goodbye" examines the enduring absence experienced by families of White Terror victims, who carried their grief in silence. Inspired by the book Undeliverable Last Notes, a collection of unsent letters of victims sealed in classified archives, the project transforms these untold stories of pain and loss into a reflective experience. From 1949 to 1991, Taiwan underwent political repression against communism, where dissent was harshly punished and permeated surveillance was part of daily life. Against this backdrop, the project focuses on the story of a young print house worker, Liu Yao-ting, and his wife, Shih Yueh-hsia. Married in 1951, Shih endured Liu's arrest while she was pregnant. During his 15-month imprisonment, they exchanged over eighty letters, except for the last one.
