This is like nothing you've heard before.

It's a story with music, a literal 'telling', told by an assortment of voices. All are blended into a fragmentary soundscape stitched together from found sound, atmospheric recordings and samples. Hip-hop is a reference throughout.

At times unsettling, at times sublime, this is the first solo release by Good Vallis (Anthony Day). It features the voice work of @nathalieboobis, @lewhenson, @michaelorrellphoto and @emilyfurneaux

It's unlike anything else out there at the moment and Spirit Duplicator is delighted to release it.

This is my new project, The Tellings, on the excellent label, Spirit Duplicator @sduplicator. It’s a digital and cassette release, out on 5th September but up on Bandcamp now for pre-order (and to listen to). It features guest vocal performances from @nathalieboobis, @lewhenson, @michaelorrellphoto and @emilyfurneaux

It’s the first bit of creative work I did since coming out of the cocoon of early parenthood. I was dealing with an almost non-existent amount of time and space, but somehow felt more determined than before, and maybe had more clarity about what it needed to be. I feel pleased with how it came out and now I’m fully immersed in the next one.

Link in bio - worth checking out some of the other stuff on Spirit Duplicator, loads of great tapes and books. by @anth_nyday

Me and Daines (aka Sylvan Shroud) made a split tape. A sort of woozy instrumental hip hop with a range of other influences. Our styles are quite different but sit together nicely here. It ended up being a pretty unusual sounding thing. Available from @penthiefrecords (link in bio). by @anth_nyday

Me and @jtramlines did a tape for @beatconcern which will be available from Friday at https://beatconcern.bandcamp.com. It’s a loving decimation of a record by well-known 60s band, The Jads. by @anth_nyday

@mrharryhill During a lull in conversation this afternoon, my cat performed an impromptu impersonation of your colleague, Stouffer. Of course, we all fell about. #sundayclassic #comictiming #animalanecdotes #tellingfamouspeoplethingsontheinternet by @anth_nyday
