Naiad -

Remembering the sacrality of water. Naiad - from Greek naiein, “to flow”). Is a healing entity serving as part of a larger slow waterfiltration proces.
Her scales allow vegitation to grow on the porous structure and help adding more oxigen to water. Partly mimicking nature.

A look back at last night 🔙

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the opening of Anthony Leenders’ 𝘛𝘪𝘮𝘦 𝘉𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘴 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘚𝘪𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘎𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘴, and later at KMSKA for the artist talk.

- Lampionne nr 1 & 2, june 2025 -

Amongst other evolving curiosities and material - studio shot.

I always imagined many of these, stuck in the ground, their heads floating above the meadow fields, wiggeling left to right, animated by the wind... As kind dwelling spirits.... Something to be continued.

Nr⁰2: a small serie of 6 standing pieces, presented at my last duoshow in august.

Materials: steel, capiz shell, zinc, tin and protective wax.

Escape from the anthropocene - 2025

360 x 80 x 120 cm

Its crown formed by dry and gusty winds, traces from a past, a former home, now a desolate and lucid landscape. In its journey, assisted by a human intervention, a now softly emitting light source.
Effortfully trying to brace itself for a future yet to come. Its roots and branches, slowly turning blue with distress. Yet its body remains bright, embalmed by a do-gooder. While carrying human remnants from a past industrial age, it seeks more fruitful grounds.
An escape attempt from an inevitable human-saturated landscape, yet still embodying hope.
Despite its past and current undergoing stress, it still offers a seating place, inviting a passerby some support for seating and reading, hence offering a place to reflect and escape into another world, or do we presume a human function?
