Today is the 10 year anniversary of our first LP ‘Adult Contemporaries’

It simultaneously feels like just yesterday and a lifetime ago, and at the heels of our new album being released into the world it feels appropriate to relive the apprehension and excitement we felt surrounding our first effort. I still have a lot of love for this collection of songs, and want to thank @kennethjohngilmore for taking the production and mixing reins on it and doing such a stellar job. Also a huge thanks to our ride or dies @jordansabolick and @danielrosenbaum who have been with us since day 1, still some of the best shredders and people we know.

I’d like to think a lot has changed since then and we’ve learned in the process, but it also feels good to admit that we’re still on the same bumpy path, propelled by a mix of uncertainty and hopefulness, always unsure of what’s around the corner but infinitely grateful to still be doing it.

If this record meant anything to you I hope we can look back and celebrate together. Thank you for being on this journey with us <3 by @anton.biz

So excited to share ‘1994’ with you, out now on @hitthenorthrecs & @pvinerecords. This one is near and dear to my heart; it was the first track we worked on with @wildnothing and helped set the tone for the record as a whole. Right away it was clear that Jack understood the vision and with his first mix transformed my monochromatic demo into vibrant technicolor.

Our friend @otium helped bring the visuals to life with our most ambitious video to date, comprised of 3 one-shot takes with lots of moving parts and precisely timed choreography. Thanks so much to him and the team for being so patient and making it happen.

Big thanks to @floodmagazine for the premiere and kind words.

‘1994’ is a song about clinging to specific times and seeking refuge in them, often to moments that never really existed. We live in a world that deals nostalgia as currency, where the past is constantly viewed through rose tinted lenses, with our youth put on a pedestal and the continual quest to return to that version of ourselves always just out of reach. We long to return to the simpler times before life pulled us from each other and ourselves, before our hardships and tragedies calloused us to the world, back to a time that only ever existed in our minds.
