It’s time for the official opening of Bleu, blauw, μπλε, blau, blue – Compositions, together with two new exhibitions: KM (New) Icons and Mondrian & The Road to Abstraction. Come join us tomorrow, Saturday, 10 October: all-day celebration! The Hague is invited to visit the museum for free this weekend!

“Bleu, blauw, μπλε, blau, blue – Compositions. In this new edition of Mix & Match, Antonis Pittas explores how art, politics, and ideology are intertwined. From the visual language of modernism and De Stijl, the color blue is central. Blue, in turn, refers to De Stijl, NATO, spirituality, and political power, and raises questions about ideals such as peace, unity, and progress.
By combining works from the Kunstmuseum Den Haag collection with architecture, archival material, and new installations, Pittas shows that color, form, and composition can not only be aesthetic, but also carry ideological meaning.”

OPENING TONIGHT | Antonis Pittas | 2026 Shanghai Jing’an International Sculpture Project⁠
⁠
The 2026 Shanghai Jing’an International Sculpture Project will open to the public tonight with the exhibition 'Shapes of Becoming', bringing together 33 artists and artist collectives from 14 countries, presenting 36 works. Close to 70% are newly commissioned. Artist Antonis Pittas also contributes to the project with his new installation "YOU".⁠

“The world, though made, is yet being made; that this is still the morning of creation.”⁠

Technological development continues to transform the scale and speed at which we perceive the world and understand change. Today, from the internet and algorithms to artificial intelligence, once-familiar boundaries between the real and the generated, creation and imitation, human and machine, experience and imagination, are continually shifting, giving rise to new forms of knowledge and creative practice.⁠
⁠
Against this backdrop, 2026 JISP takes “Shapes of Becoming” as its theme, inviting artists and artist collectives from 14 countries to respond, through sculpture, to a reality in constant transformation.⁠
⁠
Bringing together artistic practices across different media, generations, and cultural contexts, 2026 JISP considers how sculpture today can be reimagined and experienced anew in public space.⁠

If you’re in Shanghai, go check out my new installation, ‘YOU’! 🇨🇳✨ It’s officially open the 24th of September at the Jing’an International Sculpture Project. Featuring 36 contemporary artworks across 28 locations under the theme “Shapes of Becoming,” this is the largest public space installation I’ve ever realized.
