We are delighted to announce that Anupa Gardner has been voted the People’s Choice Award winner for Flourish 2025.

Congratulations to Anupa and thank you to everyone who took the time to visit the exhibition and cast their vote.
Following successful exhibitions at Northern Print and Leicester Print Workshop, the Flourish 2025 tour has now come to a close. It has been a pleasure to collaborate with partner print workshops to share the exhibition with audiences across the country.

Thank you to all of the artists, tour partners and visitors who made Flourish 2025 such a rewarding show.

Three of Anupa Gardner’s vibrantly colourful woodcut prints hang together, currently on display at the @royal_scottish_academy as part of their exhibition Chaos & Control. These beautiful and detailed prints are the result of many layers of reduction woodcut printing. She uses large sheets of wood: it is a very physical process.

Anupa is a Studio Member and a tutor at Edinburgh Printmakers, and was formerly a print technician. She was born in India and has been based in Scotland for many years. After graduating from Srishti School of Art, Design and Technology, India, where she studied graphic design, she received an MA from Edinburgh College of Art in 2008.

Her work is driven by an engagement with materiality, tactility, and the relationships that emerge through making, and evolves through a continual dialogue with ink, paper and image, responding intuitively until the final form emerges.

Chaos & Control: Printmaking in Scotland Today runs until 26 July at the Royal Scottish Academy and is free to enter. This beautifully curated exhibition features a number of printmakers from the Edinburgh Printmakers' community.

Had a lovely evening at the opening of ‘Chaos and Control - Printmaking in Scotland Now’ @royal_scottish_academy last night. I am so happy to be part of this inspiring exhibition of contemporary Scottish printmaking.

Delighted to be exhibiting in Chaos & Control, a printmaking exhibition at the @royal_scottish_academy .
The exhibition runs from 27 June to 26 July and features a fantastic line-up of printmakers exploring the dynamic relationship between order and unpredictability in contemporary printmaking.
