WHY COVER A TEMPLE IN GOLD? 🇵🇪

The walls of Qorikancha were once completely covered in gold. Not to display wealth, but to reflect the powers of the sun. The temple is dedicated to Inti, the sun.

Look closer at the stonework. Small nubs where the wall was left unfinished, like we see in Egypt.

THE CURSE FORGOT HOWARD CARTER 🇪🇬

Tutankhamun's tomb was opened in 1922. Months later, the man who funded the excavation was dead, and the newspapers had their villain: an ancient curse.

In 2002, the British Medical Journal did the math. A researcher tracked 44 people tied to the dig. Their lifespans showed no real difference.

And Howard Carter, who disturbed that tomb more than anyone, lived into his 60s.

4,500 YEARS OLD. 22% MESOPOTAMIAN. 🇪🇬

For 40 years, researchers struggled with Egypt's ancient DNA. Fragments were recovered, but a whole genome stayed out of reach.

In 2025, a team led by Adeline Morez Jacobs finally read one. It came from a man buried about 4,500 years ago.

78% of his ancestry traced to North Africa. 22% traced to early Mesopotamia. He grew up locally, so the mixing happened generations before his birth.
