I can't believe I've survived five years without my mom. And not only am I surviving, I'm living. This grief coexists with all the joy, all the additional pain, all the achievements, all the good, the bad and the ugly. It lives in me and it expands and contracts as and when it wants to. Sometimes it controls my thoughts and my actions, sometimes it limits me and sometimes it drives me further, knowing that my mom would love it if I lived and loved life, even in her absence. I know wherever she is, she is so proud of me. I know for a fact that I'm proud of me.

I wanna take this opportunity to thank absolutely everyone who has sat with me through this grief. It has truly been the longest five years of my life, but it would've felt longer without all the people who walked with me. I'm grateful to the Lord for sustenance.

Anywho, click the link in bio if you wanna hear the not-so-pretty and flowery side of grieving my mom for five year. I can't guarantee you won't walk away tear-free. If you can, sit with me in this. Speaking and writing is the one way I know how to keep her memory alive, because she too was a reader and writer.

Progress report number three✨️: Hi again🤍I'm almost halfway to the most immediate goal which is 50% of the entire amount🥹registration closes on Monday so I need to push just a little bit longer. I've also applied for the SRC Relief Fund, thanks to people who have been sharing suggestions and tips on how to get help🙏🏽I'm really grateful to everyone who has interacted with my posts and updates, please continue to do so and to donate what you can. If 207 people can donate R50, or 103 people can donate R100 that would get me to my goal, but honestly ANY amount will be appreciated greatly. Thank you all once again.🙏🏽🤍

Hey everyone! I hope you are all well!🎀

If you've followed me on this app long enough you know how I've tried my best to be open about my academic journey, and for the past six years I've been privileged enough to continuously put up a fight to further my education, both in pushing through the many challenges, losses and mental health struggles that I've faced, as well as on the financial front. I've been fortunate to have had all my fees paid off one way or another every single year, and being able to register for every academic year since my first year in 2020. Having faced all these ups and downs, I've now made it to the final stretch, and I need your help to cross the finish line!

I am currently raising funds to cover a portion of my outstanding fees so that I can register for the 2026 academic year. I have one year left of my Master's degree, and I would love to register this year and finish it timeously. In order to do this, I need to pay a minimum of half the total amount owed for last year's fees, which is R17 597, 50. I have sought out other avenues to attempt to register (with little success), but time is not on my side, and I need all the help I can get. I have a week left before registration officially closes and the academic year commences.

I would appreciate any sort of partnership in making this happening, whether it is by financial contribution or sharing this to any relevant parties that may be willing to assist. No amount is too small and will be greatly appreciated. I have set up a BackABuddy account with all the relevant information and banking details directing people to the Wits bank account. I'd like to take this opportunity to give my heartfelt thanks to every single person who contributed not only to my graduation, but to me getting this degree. Anyone who has ever had to undergo studies of any sorts knows that it is nearly impossible to obtain it on your own. The kind of year I had last year makes it so hard to believe that I got my honours degree in record time, but God made it happen and thankfully I had family, both given and chosen, to carry me to the finish line. I'm eternally grateful to everyone who has formed a part of this journey.❤️
