It is wild to me how much snow we’re getting in NC! I know this isn’t unusual for my friends to the north, but it’s been YEARS since we’ve had snow like this. The girls have been loving it. @aprilhunt and I have been staying warm and appreciating through the windows. by @aprilhunt

Hi!

It's been two months ago today that I suffered a stroke after dissecting the right vertebral artery in my neck from using a massage gun. The dissection caused a lack of blood flow to my cerebellum but thankfully I am okay! I've been doing PT and Speech Therapy, and resting as much as possible.

I wanted to publicly say THANK YOU to everyone that has reached out, brought us food, bought us food, given us money for food and groceries..sent flowers.....or offered rides and help with the girls. We are SO grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and so much kindness to our family. We have felt so loved and held during this weird and scary time.

I am on the mend, and still have some things to deal with but I am healthy, and this was a mechanical failure of my neck and I'm grateful it wasn't some other major health issue. The doctors are very positive about my recovery and I'm just really grateful that I am here, and alive and bearing witness to that is really important. I know that God has been, and is continuing to work in all of this, and in my life and it's been so beautiful to see HIS love shining throughout all of this. I am so thankful for His goodness and mercy.

So again, thank you for your kindness and generosity my friends!!

Good news y’all! April is home. She was discharged on Saturday afternoon and I’ve been trying to get her as much peace and quiet as possible. She still has quite a ways to go in terms of making a full recovery, but the doctors were happy with her progress over the past few days and determined that getting her back home would be the best next step. She’s going to need a lot of rest in the coming days, along with slowing her busy pace of life, which if you know her well…that’s going to be the hard part. She’s not out of the woods yet, but maybe the edge of the forest is coming into view?

I also wanted to say thank you to everyone who has reached out with kind thoughts, prayers, words of encouragement, and offers to help. The amount of love and support we’ve been shown is humbling and deeply heartfelt. Many have asked if we need groceries or a meal, and I’m really grateful to share that our friend @cmeyers77 has kindly organized a meal schedule for us. Until we get a sense of what our new day-to-day is going to look like, this is the best way to give us a hand. The link is below. 👇🏼
