One last “see you later” for the 2026 Loggers season. I know that more than fate brought Cristien into our lives last year, and after the summer we had, this shit was destined to be. We have gained a new family member. Maddox is definitely going to miss Chischin(or however he decides to say it that day 😂) @bandaz_03 It was such an absolute honor to watch you tear it up on the mound this year, especially as an All Star (our first!!). I am so glad that you said yes when we offered to drive you to school. 24 hours of driving in 48 hours, WORTH IT. We crushed that apartment set up 👏👏

Hosting a Logger, all you NEED to provide is a bed and a room. You don’t get paid for it, and you ‘might’ get free season tickets. People may ask or think, why would you do it? And I can’t even begin to figure out how to tell them all the reasons. We do it because we might get to spend a summer getting to know a future MLBer. We do it because we love baseball and get to spend the summer watching it.
But actually, we do it because….we might meet our son’s godson….because there are some amazing guys and their families from Florida, Arizona, California, New Jersey, Minnesota, Missouri, Wisconsin, Tennessee, and many other places that we wouldn’t have the opportunity to meet otherwise….because we get to experience dropping our “summer son” off at college, in Oklahoma.
Does it tear my heart into pieces every single year when we say “see you later”? It sure does; and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Life is for LIVING, and every summer we make so many memories, make new friends, and meet so many people we now consider family, that my heart is so so full.

@lukasbuckner What an absolute joy it’s been having you here as part of our big (and a little dysfunctional 😂) family this summer. Nick and I are so thankful that you came to La Crosse and were placed with us. ❤️ You are so incredibly talented and it’s been a joy to watch you play baseball (Golden Glove winner if they gave that award; hands down). Today’s a sad day (with more to come 😭) @chucka.52 Stephen, it’s been such a joy getting to know you, watching you play baseball, and enjoying some of the things our state has to offer. Hearing you wrestle and “cry” with Maddox always put a smile on my face. @sebastian_hurtadooo our bonus “summer son”. What a joy to have around. I’m so glad you spent the night, and then just never left. The house is going to be so quiet without you around anymore, and Bailey is all @lukasbuckners again. My little boy is 3 🥹
Year 2️⃣➡️3️⃣ was pretty amazing to experience. Watching Maddox develop his own personality, mixed with a little of mom 🫣 and dad, has been one of most joyful experiences of parenthood so far. While it’s hard to see him grow up, I’m so thankful every single day that we get to 🩵 Happy Birthday buddy. Mommy loves you very much!! @nicholas.crowder88 by @aprilmae03

@jordanchristian94 and @lilchowder56 are on their IVF journey, which is very costly. We are making progress on helping them “build” their family, but there are plenty of pieces left. As many of you know, my brother-in-law and sister-in-law have been trying to conceive for over 3 years. They have tried ALL the things….meds, multiple rounds of IUI, trigger shots, you name it. None of it has resulted in what they so desperately want, a baby. They have made the decision to start their IVF journey, which is extremely expensive.

I wanted to try and help ease the financial burden. If you are interested and willing, I am selling puzzle pieces for $20 each to help them “build” a family. The puzzle is 1,000 pieces and the picture will be revealed when it’s put together, with your name on each puzzle piece, showing your contribution to their dream.
