For the first time in Aptos Wrestling history, two of our athletes have qualified for the national tournament in North Dakota. This is a huge achievement for our team and a proud moment for our club and community. The journey to nationals is not only a testament to the hard work and dedication of our athletes, but also to the support and encouragement from our coaches, families, and the Aptos community.

Sending our athletes to the national tournament comes with significant expenses, including airfare, lodging, food, and other necessities. As the head coach, I am starting this fundraiser to help relieve the financial stress on our athletes and their parents, so they can focus on their training and competition. Your support will directly help cover these costs and ensure our athletes have the opportunity to represent Aptos on the national stage.

Any additional funds raised will go toward supporting the Aptos Wrestling Club as a whole. This includes providing tournament fees, wrestling uniforms, food and drink at tournaments for all athletes, and potentially purchasing a new wrestling mat. Our goal is to continue growing the sport of wrestling in our community and Santa Cruz County, giving every athlete the resources they need to succeed. Nothing Else Matters - Metallica ❤️‍🔥

Yesterday I got a text that the All-Star duals scheduled for today were canceled and honestly, it made me really sad.

I thought about it all night, our girls were in the room working showing up, improving, and taking pride in the process.

That contrast is real.

Wrestling is a powerful sport. It builds resilience, accountability, confidence, and leadership qualities that matter far beyond the mat.

But here in our community, we’re starting to see a decline in participation and commitment, even as girls wrestling continues to grow across the country and around the world.

Canceling an event like this SHOULD NOT feel normal !!!!!

it should matter !!!!

Our young athletes need support.

They need encouragement, structure, and adults who value what it means to show up and follow through.

The lessons learned in this sport; discipline, perseverance, and navigating both wins and setbacks…are life skills.

To the ladies of GNG : keep going.
You are pioneers in this space, and what you’re building matters. Your commitment is setting the standard, and your example is powerful.

And to our community : if you know a young person who could benefit from building confidence, accountability, and resilience, encourage them to step onto the mat.

That first step can change a life.

We all have a role to play in this for our kids, for our community, and for the future of this sport.

What an amazing day it was not only for the Aptos wrestling Family, SCCAL in general! Aptos had 3 CCS medalists, including 2 State qualifiers, and finished 9th overall as a team out of almost 100 Schools!
