POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

From boardrooms to the mountains. From deadlines to sunrises.

A few years ago, we made a decision that many thought was risky—we left our corporate careers behind and moved to the Himalayas.

It wasn’t about escaping city life. It was about choosing a different way of living.

We wanted our daughter to grow up with mountains instead of malls, seasons instead of traffic, and experiences instead of routines.

Today, seeing our story featured by NDTV @ndtvindia is a reminder that sometimes the biggest rewards come from taking the path that doesn’t make sense to everyone.

The journey hasn’t always been easy. Every monsoon brings uncertainty. Tourism slows down. Businesses are tested. Nature reminds us who’s really in charge.

But despite the challenges, we’ve never regretted this decision.

Today, our life revolves around Ara Homestay, Ara Home Cafe, fitness, the outdoors, and building a community around the mountains we now call home.

Thank you to everyone who has stayed with us, trained with us, supported our small businesses, and believed in our journey.

And thank you to NDTV @ndtv for sharing our story with the country.

Sometimes, the road less travelled truly becomes home.

Some races test your legs.
Some test your mind. And some remind you how much your people mean to you.

60K. Second place @thehellrace . One unforgettable mountain journey.

Never alone. Always grateful.

Family ❤️

It was Solang ultra season at Ara as athletes from all across India gathered to take on the mighty Himalayan trail run challenge.

These 3 chose to run 100km that too on trail in cold brutal weather conditions.

Coming back to the base after completion of 60% of the 100km route.

This man and his well deserved achievement, completion of 100km on his third attempt at Solang.

The 30k challenge gang.

Refuelling before moving ahead in the next leg of 60km.

The host completing his 60k run while achieving a podium finish.

Beautiful people ❤️ who now belong to Ara family.

Crushed their races and achieved their well deserved medals. by @ara_homestay

My first 60K trail. My first podium.
Solang Hell Race @thehellrace — 2nd place!
In the last two editions, I ran the 30K. This time, I stepped up to 60K with just one goal in mind: finish the race.
The cut-off was 15 hours, and initially, that was my only target.
But when I realised I was running in 2nd position, something changed. I thought, why not give the podium a shot?
I targeted a sub-12-hour finish.
The first 32K went according to plan — 6 hours and 30 minutes. But the second half had a different plan for me.
The Solang–Beas Kund–Lady Leg section took almost 7 hours. Two years ago, I’d covered the same section in around 5.5 hours.
This time, rain turned into snowfall around Beas Kund and Lady Leg. The descents were slippery, every step needed attention, and the mountains reminded me that you can plan your race, but you can’t control the conditions.
My final timing: 13:32:11.
Not the sub-12 I had hoped for. But a second-place finish in my very first 60K trail race.
And honestly, I’m happy.
Because sometimes, the real achievement is not hitting the time you planned. It’s adapting when everything changes and still finding a way to finish strong.
From 30K in the previous editions to 60K and a podium this year.
46. Still curious. Still moving. Still choosing the harder path.
